NM WCA Director Robert E. Doucette Jr., Confirmed by Senate

                               

Albuquerque, NM (WorkersCompensation.com) - Robert E. Doucette, Jr., was unanimously confirmed (31-0) to become the 10th Director of the Workers’ Compensation Administration (WCA) at a hearing on Friday, February 11, 2022. Doucette previously served as a Deputy Director at the WCA from April 2011 until May 2015, during which time he oversaw both the support and operations functions of the agency giving him a good foundation of all aspects of the WCA.

Immediately prior to his return, Doucette was the Deputy County Manager for Sandoval County. He was Deputy Superintendent of Insurance from 2015 until 2021, and also served as Deputy County Commissioner for Bernalillo County for 10 years prior to his original appointment at the WCA. Doucette is a veteran of the United States Army. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in English from Black Hills University in Spearfish, S.D., and a Master of Arts degree in management and leadership from Webster University in Albuquerque. He is only the second non-attorney to be appointed WCA Director in the agency’s 35-year history. He is a member of several boards, task forces and committees, to include the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC), an association of workers’ compensation jurisdictional agencies from around the world, and the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS), which is the standard used by federal statistical agencies in classifying business establishments for the purpose of collecting, analyzing and publishing statistical data related to the U.S. business economy.
