CEUs available for Certified Case Managers
Newnan, Georgia (Nov. 3, 2023) — ATF Medical’s Executive Director/Rehab Technology Erin Zablocki, CDME, Master C.E.A.C., ECHM will present an “Introduction to Home Modifications” on December 6 at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT. Geared for workers’ comp case managers and adjusters, the webinar makes CEUs available for Certified Case Managers.
The session goes into the assessments of the injured worker and the home and the detailed plans needed to provide safety, accessibility and mobility to the injured worker who is returning home from hospital or rehab center. A variety of ramps, vertical platform lifts, stairlifts, threshold ramps, and door-widening options, bathing equipment, door widening options will be showcased.
The hour-long webinar examines common pitfalls as well as way to avoid unnecessary costs. “Getting the home mod providers engaged early in the case is important,” Zablocki said. “More planning time minimizes rework and if the home isn’t ready when the injured worker is discharged, they may have to stay in a facility for days or weeks longer than necessary.”
She also stressed the power of collaboration between the home mod provider and the rehab and mobility providers. “You have to make sure the ceiling can bear the weight of the recommended lift and that the floor can support a 400-pound wheelchair with a 250-pound injured worker,” she said. In some cases, power chairs with seat lifts or standing chairs replace the need to lower cabinets, while providing additional benefits.
“Introduction to Home Modifications” free, hour-long webinar starts at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT on December 6.
The session makes a one-hour CEU available for certified case managers (CCM). Registration information is available at https://tinyurl.com/WCHomeMod. https://atfmedical.zoom.us/webinar/register/9016951725030/WN_eH1U1RKPT1q6unAuQktl3g
