I was injured in 2003 by a cervical spine injury. I had a second surgery in
July of 2018. The newly installed hardware failed after three months.
About the time I had the surgery my original attorney died. It sent his
organization into confusion. I found a different attorney and he advised me to have a third surgery while my case was still open. I had a third surgery in June of 2020. My doctor of record retired in December of 2018, so it was performed by a new neurosurgeon. I had old hardware removed from C-7 to C-2. I am
trying to recover although I still have a lot of pain.
What should I expect next?
I have been disabled since the original accident in 2003. I am now 68 years old and in poor health generally. I have had no earned income since the accident in 2003. I received a small lump sum award after the second surgery. My monthly benefit amount was increased.
Do I qualify for any future settlement? I don't know what to expect next?
The award handed down by the Industrial Commission said I was to receive
benefits until which time I became medically stationary. Will my benefits end at that time.
I do not hear anything from my attorney and I can't get a sit-down appointment with him. I am confused as to what I should do?
Can you enlighten me?
Thank you,
Kellie
