“Being a good human being, a warm hearted, affectionate person. That is my fundamental belief.” -- Dalai Lama

What if at our core, being a good human being was our fundamental belief?

The Dalai Lama was right, as, if we do operate from a place of warmth, affection, kindness – it will in-turn make the world a better place.

It’s time to make the changes to make the industry a better place.

Welcome to “Good Humans, Doing Good Things in our Industry”

With all the things we hear in the industry that aren’t good….

There is such a need for a place where we talk about people doing good. The good human beings. The ones that don’t just talk the talk, they actually walk the walk.

There is goodness in all of us, and so many people in our industry are doing good and being kind.

This a place of positive vibes. Good deeds, kindness, loving hard, being a good human – showing the human side of who we are in our industry. Whether it be taking care of injured employees/doing kind things for them, at industry events, in the community volunteering their time and giving back, or maybe being a leader and focusing on the culture at one of the companies in our industry.

Why should we focus on good humans in the industry?

“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” – Mark Twain

The workers’ comp industry has gotten to be so transactional – but these humans that get injured are going through a transition of their life – a hard time and it changes their life. Within an instant, someone’s life is changed.

There are people in our industry, who are seeing this as the transition and doing what they can within the means of workers’ comp to make it a better experience. Their kindness is in everything they do. And that should not go unnoticed.

Gentle Reminder

Injured employees are the reason we all have a job in workers’ comp. Stop and think about this. The reason we have a job is because someone got injured on the job. It behooves us to not to make a difference doing good things.

Let’s bring good humans together for the Good Human Tribe in our industry.

What to expect

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” – Aesop

Each month will highlight a good human or a company full of good humans doing good things in the industry. Making a difference. Even the little things make a big impact. It’s amazing how things we may think are so small, make the biggest impact on someone else.

We need to highlight the positive efforts in our industry – the more good we put out there, the more it spreads. The more it spreads, the more the industry will shift into that direction.

The most contagious thing we want to catch

Be a good human. It’s contagious. It’s the best thing to catch – goodness. Positivity. The more we do good – the more it happens in the industry and the world.

“Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” Vincent Van Gogh

It’s going to take a tribe of us. It’s going to take even the smallest things – all that will add up to be something great in the industry.

Spread the good human tribe vibe.

Maybe that will prompt the good human in you too.
