Sarah Meyer is not just moving through the world—she is charging at it, full speed ahead, with the grit and brilliance that turns challenges into triumphs. If last year's story was about the spark she brings to workers' compensation, this year is about the wildfire she has ignited. From stepping onto bigger stages to leading with fearless authenticity, Sarah proves that incredible things happen when you push beyond your comfort zone.
She is navigating uncharted waters, juggling the complexities of leadership, motherhood, and personal growth with a confidence that is both inspiring and refreshing. And through it all, she remains unapologetically Sarah—fierce, compassionate, and determined to make the industry (and the world) a better place.
From Fear to Fearless: Owning the Stage and the Spotlight
For over 13 years, Sarah sat in the audience at WCI (Workers’ Compensation Institute), watching industry leaders take the stage and thinking, Wow, they’ve really made it. This year, she was the one behind the mic.
Public speaking did not come naturally to her. She thrives in intimate, one-on-one connections where she can engage deeply. But when the opportunity arose to sit on a panel at WCI, Sarah said yes—not because it was easy, but because it mattered.
Walking onto that stage, Sarah stepped into a new level of leadership—one where she was not just part of the conversation but helping to shape it. And while the nerves were real, so was the impact. The audience showed up, engaged, and left inspired, proving what Sarah is quickly learning: she belongs here.
Leadership is Not a One-Size-Fits-All Game
Sarah has spent the last year stepping into new roles—leading client-facing teams, clinical teams, and operations teams, each with its own dynamics and demands. But if there is one thing she has learned, there is no such thing as a perfect leader.
She read the books, listened to the podcasts, and studied the strategies, but at the end of the day, leadership is about people. And people simply don’t fit into a formula.
Sarah discovered that great leadership is about understanding individual needs—meeting people where they are, knowing how to communicate, and making sure they feel seen, heard, and valued. Leading people is not about being a flawless leader but more so about being the right leader for the moment and the people in front of you.
And Sarah? She is becoming exactly that.
Balancing It All—And Learning to Say No
Let’s be real—being a working mother on the rise is no small feat. The balance between career ambition and personal well-being is a battle Sarah is still learning to fight.
Managing the workload, raising her children, and finding time to breathe—it IS a lot. But she is coming to terms with a hard but necessary truth: she cannot do it all.
And more importantly, she does not have to.
This year, Sarah is learning how to prioritize. How to say no. How to carve out space for herself without guilt. Because being everything to everyone is not the goal. Being fully present in the moments that matter is.
That means knowing when to step back, set boundaries, and let go of things that do not serve her growth.
The Power of Community: Lifting Women in Workers’ Comp
If there is one thing Sarah is beyond certain of, it is that we go further together.
As an Ambassador for the Alliance of Women in Workers’ Compensation, Sarah has seen firsthand the power of bringing women together in a male-dominated industry. Hosting two in-person and two virtual events this year, she watched connections form, mentorships blossom, and women find their voices in spaces that once felt exclusive.
Her favorite part? The in-person moments where women come up to her and say thank you—for creating spaces where they feel valued, supported, and empowered.
She is just getting started, and North Florida had better get ready because this chapter is growing, and Sarah is at the helm, making sure every woman in this industry has a seat at the table.
Charging the Hill: Doing the Hard Things
One of the biggest lessons Sarah has leaned on this year? The hard stuff is usually the right stuff.
She learned this from her boss, who drilled in the idea that leaning into the discomfort is where real growth happens. This reminds her of her old cross-country days, when her coach would have them train on hills, pushing through the toughest parts of the race when others slowed down.
Because anyone can coast downhill.
But the real leaders? They charge the hill.
And Sarah is doing precisely that—taking on new challenges, embracing discomfort, and proving that resilience is so much more than bouncing back—it's about pushing forward.
The Art of Being Present
We live in a world that demands constant availability. Emails, texts, notifications—it never stops. But Sarah is making a conscious effort to step away from the noise and be present.
This means:
- Less instant responsiveness, more intentional connection.
- Fewer distractions, deeper conversations.
- More quality time with her family, less being pulled in a million directions.
The result? Better mental health, stronger relationships, and a greater sense of balance. Her presence is a work in progress, AND it is one of the best shifts she has made.
What’s Next? Bigger, Bolder, and Even More Impactful
Sarah knows one thing for sure—this is just the beginning.
Her company is growing. She is growing. The challenges ahead do not intimidate her—they excite her. Because now, she knows exactly what she is capable of.
More leadership.
More impact.
More women coming together to make this industry stronger.
And most importantly? More Sarah.
Unapologetically bold. Fiercely determined. Fully stepping into the powerhouse, she was always meant to be.
Her Message to You:
You are capable of more than you know.
That is what Sarah hopes you take from her story.
That fear, that doubt, that voice in your head that says, Maybe I can’t? It’s lying to you.
You can. You just have to be willing to charge the hill.
Because on the other side of the hard stuff? That is where the magic happens.
And if Sarah Meyer is any proof—it’s worth it.
Sarah, darling, you are a force. And we are all better because of it.
Here is to another year of brilliance, boldness, and blazing new trails.
