Santee, CA (WorkersCompenstion.com) – Another week, another series of attacks on workers just trying to do their jobs.

In Santee, California, this week, a man is under arrest after he attacked a convenience store worker with a pocketknife. Police said the assailant, who appeared to be homeless, entered a 7-Eleven in Santee about 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Shortly after entering the store, the man started arguing with the employee.

Police said that as the argument escalated, the man pulled a small knife out and stabbed the worker. The assailant fled the scene. Police said the worker was injured in the attack, but there was no report on the worker’s condition.

A man matching the assailant’s description was taken into custody after a police search of the area, but it’s unclear if the detained man is the one who stabbed the worker, police said.

In New York City, a man attacked and robbed a Long Island City bodega worker Tuesday morning.

Police said they were searching for the man who allegedly assaulted the 70-year-old worker after a confrontation over shoplifted lighters. The victim said the man entered the store and took several lighters without paying for them and then punched the employee in the face and body when they confronted him. The suspect fled on foot, police said.

While the victim sustained a minor injury, he declined medical treatment for it.

In Riviera Beach, Fla., one city employee is recovering after being shot and attacked by a co-worker. The altercations started at work and escalated from there, police said.

Courtney Cross, 44, and Christopher McCullon, 52, worked for the city of Riviera Beach together. According to police reports, they were in a confrontation at work last week. City officials with Riviera Beach said in a statement that McCullon had been placed on administrative leave because of the altercations.

McCullon was “cited for using vulgar and abusive language, engaging in verbal assault, and issuing threats against a coworker,” the city said in its statement.

McCullon was arrested Tuesday night and charged with attempted murder.

According to the police report, McCullon saw Cross in West Palm Beach on Sunday night and attacked him.

“The victim was chased by the suspect, was shot, stomped on, pistol whipped,” Mike Jachles, with West Palm Beach Police, said.

Police reports said witnesses told investigators that they saw McCullon stand over Cross and “unload that gun in that man,” and continued to fire the gun until it was out of ammunition.

“There were officers at a nearby event,” Jachles said. “They heard the shots, immediately ran to the area of the 1600 block, and they found the victim lying in the roadway bleeding.”

Cross was still conscious and was able to identify McCullon as his attacker.

McCullon is being held without bail at the Palm Beach County jail.

And in Cincinnati, a restaurant worker is speaking out after he says he was violently assaulted by a disgruntled customer.

Police said they are looking for a man in Clifton Heights after the restaurant worker, an Army veteran, said he was violently assaulted.

DeWyon Williamson said he was working the closing shift at Buffalo Wild Wings in the Clifton Heights neighborhood of Cincinnati when an unknown man walked into the restaurant.

“He asked for a refund or something like that,” Williamson said. “I told him I couldn’t help him and he kind of went quiet after that and walked away.”

About 15 minutes later, Williamson went across the street to the Shell gas station and saw the disgruntled customer. Moments later, he was reeling, he said.

"When I came out, I was blindsided and knocked completely out and then I woke up,” he said. "I was knocked out and then I guess he hit me a couple more times while I was knocked out and then he took off running up the street. When I woke up, I was kind of discombobulated. I had to figure out what happened actually."

According to a GoFundMe page, the customer struck Williamson from behind causing him to fall face-first onto the concrete. Unconscious, Williamson laid there as the attacker continued to hit him in the head and back causing serious physical injuries.

Williamson said he crawled back to the Buffalo Wild Wings for help and another employee called 911.

It’s been more than a month, but Williamson is still recovering from multiple injuries. His jaw is wired shut and he hasn’t been able to eat solid food for nearly a month.

"Customer service is customer service. This shouldn't happen to people who work at restaurants over food," Williamson said.

The GoFundMe account set up for Williamson has raised nearly $5,000 to help with medical expenses. Police continue to investigate the incident, but have made no arrests.
