Kids’ Chance of Florida Announces New Scholarship Opportunities for Children of Injured Workers 

                               

Tampa, FL- (August 30, 2024)- Kids’ Chance of Florida (KCFL) is proud to announce that it has awarded $65,000 in academic scholarships to these 13 deserving students for the 2024-2025 academic school year. These scholarships have been awarded to students who have demonstrated exemplary leadership, strong academic standing, and significant financial need.  

Since its inception, Kids' Chance of Florida has been committed to helping students achieve their educational goals and pursue their dreams, even when faced with the financial hardships that often accompany workplace injuries. This year's scholarships will continue to provide essential support to these resilient young individuals, ensuring that they have the chance to succeed in their academic endeavors.

"Our scholarship program is a testament to our commitment to supporting the children of injured workers, providing them with the resources they need to build a brighter future." 

The scholarships will assist Florida students in attending colleges, universities, and technical schools across the state, allowing them to pursue degrees in fields such as healthcare, engineering, education, and more.

Founded in 2015, KCFL is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, one of 50 state-level nonprofit organizations that provide scholarships and support the kids of workers who have been severely injured on the job. Governed by an all-volunteer board, it raises funds for scholarships through donations and an annual fundraising golf tournament at the Workers’ Compensation Institute Annual Education Conference. In the workers’ compensation community. Kids’ Chance of Florida believes that we can make a significant difference in the lives of all children affected by a workplace injury by helping them pursue and achieve their educational goals. To date, KCFL has awarded 85 scholarships totaling $375,000 and has a graduation rate of 100%. One of our newest Board members is one of those scholarship recipients and a graduate!
