Atlanta, GA (WorkersCompensation.com) – One woman stabbed at least three people at the Delta International Airport this week, while another woman stabbed an employee dressed like a mattress in continuing attacks against employees continue.

On Oct. 11, a woman in Atlanta attacked a taxi driver, a Delta Air Lines employee and an Atlanta Police Department officer, police said. The 44-year-old woman, Damaris Milton, was charged with four counts of aggravated assault and is currently awaiting trial.

According to reports, taxi driver picked Milton up outside of the MARTA train station on Wednesday afternoon. Milton asked to be taken to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. As he was driving, he said, the woman stabbed him in the upper chest, near his right shoulder, then threw his phone out of the car’s window.

At the airport, someone reported that a woman was in the airport with a knife. The officer radioed the alert to other officers who spotted her. As they followed her, one of the officers saw Milton “swipe her knife” at a Delta employee, cutting her on the left side of her chest. In response, one of the officers fired his Taser at Milton, but it did not make contact with her skin through her clothing. Milton refused to obey commands to drop the knife, so another officer fired his Taser at her.

A third officer sprayed Milton with pepper spray, but then slipped and fell on the spray on the ground. Milton saw the officer on the ground and bent down to stab him in the left leg. Finally, another officer tackled Milton, allowing officers to detain her and disarm her.

The police officer and the taxi driver’s wounds were treated at the scene, and the Delta

Once the woman was in custody, an officer put a tourniquet on the police lieutenant’s leg and another applied a chest seal to the taxi driver’s chest to stop the bleeding. The police lieutenant, the taxi driver and the Delta employee were all taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

In Fort Myers, Fla., a group of women were caught on camera beating a teenage barista while she worked at a local Dunkin’ Donuts coffee shop.

Police said a group of at least three women entered the coffee shop around 1 p.m. Oct. 6. After shouting at the employees who were working at the store, the group was asked to leave by the victim. Instead, one member of the group jumped over the counter and assaulted her.

In video of the attack, the employee’s co-worker yelled at the women to stop the attack, but the women continued to beat the girl for more than two minutes. The women left the store, leaving the employee motionless. Officials said the employee was taken to the hospital immediately after the attack.

Two women, Cassie Smith and Janiya Wingate, are in custody after the attack, Lee County Sheriff’s Office officials said.

The victim’s family released a statement following the attack.

“As a family, we are deeply saddened and disturbed by the recent incident that occurred at Dunkin’ Donuts, where our daughter was viciously attacked by a group of individuals,” the victim’s family said. “Our daughter was simply doing her job when the group of women jumped over the counter, initiating the assault. What followed was a horrifying and traumatic experience for her.”

Police are continuing their investigating, officials said.

And in Durango, Col., a woman is under arrest after getting a little too “playful” with a mattress mascot.

Police said a woman may have been under the influence when she pushed a Mattress Outlet mascot on Sept. 27 causing the employee to fall. The employee had just started working outside the store to advertise it. He was wearing an inflatable mattress costume and had only been outside for a few minutes when he was approached by the suspect, store manager Tucker Fincher said.

“He went outside and there was a drunk lady that basically started attacking him and trying to tip him over and hitting him and stuff,” Fincher said. “She was trying to kick him over and get him on the ground.”

Initially “playful,” the woman turned from hugging the costumed employee to pushing him when she became “aggressive” and “profane.” Her goal, police said, was to push the employee over. When she successfully pushed him and he fell to the ground, she stood over him and yelled profanities, police said.

Once the employee was able to get up uninjured, he returned to the store “bewildered,” Fincher said.

Fincher said his bewildered employee returned to the store with his suit unzipped.

“He was like, ‘Dude, this lady’s attacking me,’” Fincher said.

After attacking the mascot, the woman banged on the doors of the business, screamed at the employees and threw a sandwich board to the ground, he said.

Police were able to deflate the situation and put the matter to bed. Officers found the woman about a block from the store, where she was cited and released before being sent home to sleep it off.
