WCRI Conference Panel Discusses the Future of the Workplace after COVID-19

Cambridge, MA (WorkersCompensation.com) - Today, the Workers Compensation Research Institute (WCRI) announced that a panel will discuss the future of the workplace after COVID-19 at the 38th Annual WCRI Issues & Research Conference, March 16-17, 2022, in Boston, MA.

"The pandemic caused the most significant disruption to workplaces in generations. It forced employers and employees to quickly pivot and change,” said John Ruser, WCRI president and CEO. “Our diverse and distinguished panel representing labor, employers and insurers will be answering many of the questions that are on the minds of our audience members.”

The panel includes Denise Algire, director of risk initiatives and national medical director for Albertsons Companies; Dr. Craig Ross, regional medical director for Liberty Mutual, and Dan Allen, executive director for the Construction Industry Service Corporation, a non-profit labor management association. The following are among the questions the panel will be addressing:

  • How have federal, state, and local mandates and requirements affected the workplace? What is the long-term view in terms of vaccine requirements as it relates to employment?
  • How will organizations manage the different comfort levels employees have in returning to the workplace with others? What are the implications of increased work from home as many companies contemplate permanently converting to “hybrid” work?
  • How did the pandemic impact workers who were injured on the job? What happened to claims composition, timely delivery of medical services, and types of treatment received?

The WCRI conference is a leading workers’ compensation forum. The two-day program highlights the Institute’s latest research findings while drawing upon the diverse perspectives of highly respected workers’ compensation experts and policymakers from across the country. Conference participants will leave with new insights, valuable networking contacts, and a better understanding of key issues in today’s competitive environment. A special conference hotel rate of $236 is also available for a limited time.
