Medical Buyout - Cali

You guys are such a great wealth of information - I am back.

I know that you can settle your medical with a buy out when the insurer offers it to you.

We have moved from California and getting medical treatment is next to impossible out here between Tx dr's not wanting to take Cali WC insurance to the fact that the adjuster rarely ever returns a call for authorization unless pressed up against a wall.

Can the employee force the insurer to buy out the medical at a hearing?

unfortunately, no.
but you can make it expensive to delay treatment decisions. you'll need to become familiar with the UR rules and file for penalties when they unreasonably deny treatment.
