getting wc auth

ok bad boy, here it is
i worked in a hospital as the wc billier my husband was schuduled to have surgery the next day and wc had not given us an auth # yet so i called to see what they needed to get this auth asap
the rep (lets call her jp said "are you his wife?" now i only gave my name a jean with st jos i never give out my last name nor had i'd ever been asked for my last name so i said NO, she replied oh well i know he has a wife that works at that hospital in MEDICAL RECORDS
(which i do not) ok i lied about being his wife but felt at the time it was inappriate for her to ask no other wc company had ever asked that question before (by the way i;m in Arizona) she then went on and stated she had requested medical records for all his previous surgeries (it was for an ingenial hernia) and left it at that.,
then i get called into my New superviors office (jp had called her i guess and wanted to know who i was) i gave answered all the questions asked including if i lied about being his wife and i said yes because i felt it was an inaprovite question. why would she care? i had all the signed papers not only has a biller but access to his records as his wife. and had the signed papers to prove it. even so as a wc biller i was never told it was a conflict of insrest to bill for a relative? is that true? i could not find anything in the employee hand book and asked someone to show it to me and they refused (HR)
now i ask you was this a means to terminatilon? maybe a repremand but i feel someone call this jp and gave her a head ups that the wc biller was the patients wife, is this legal or did someone at the hosp not was his claim to go through?
