RE: accussed of fraud by disgruntled sister inlaw
Been reading over your posts. The medications that you are on concern me. I take Cymbalta, as well as Lyrica and 800 Ibus, for neuro pain and depression/anxiety caused by my injury and all the fun stuff that goes along with it.
I have been told by several Doctors, as well as Pharmacist, and also have read several things online, that you should not mix Cymbalta with any other depression/anxiety meds-like Xanax and Valium. Can't imagine what adding Lortab into that mix would do. I fear you have a Doctor who just prescribes meds instead of truly diagnosing the problem. I have had those in the past, I was a walking zombie, as you must be!! Everyone here has given you great advice in regards to your SIL. I think your bigger problem is that you need a new doctor. One who will tell you exactly what is wrong with you, what the treatment should be, how long it may take, and future prognosis. I can't believe that your IC is allowing this to go on. Mine likes specifics, and pushed to get me back to work. (Even though there isn't any out there! lol!) You may also want to look into alternatives, like acupuncture or biofeedback. A good pain management specialist! Good luck to you! |

RE: accussed of fraud by disgruntled sister inlaw
I can comment on the warnings and it has to do with the medications increasing circulating serotonin levels to toxic levels. Many newer anti-depressents as well as Cymbalta when used for pain as a serotonin- norepinephrine inhibitor, and meds like Tramadol exert their therapeutic effect by slowing the re-uptake of the neurotransmitter serotonin when it has been secreted by nerve cells. Too much serotonin can cause GI problems, psychoses, even death.
Other types of anti-depressents, especially the class known as mono-amine oxidase inhibitors, can cause a severe serotonin syndrome. There are a whole host of drugs and drug classes that can cause problems with concommitant use of cymbalta, read the package insert carefully. These include benzos like valium and Xanax. Lortab will have no effect on serotonin levels. fairycatz Wrote:Been reading over your posts. The medications that you are on concern me. I have taken Cymbalta, Neurontin, Klonopin, and numerous other drugs for about 4 years now.....I take narcotics sparingly....I understand Seratonin Syndrome....My PCP, and all specialists have overhauled my meds and are not concerned....I am talking from PCP ..PM...psychiatrist..I don't not take high dosages of any and have had no side effects to this combo..... my psychiatrist actually had me add Valerian Root since I'm nervous and having trouble sleeping....and it worked like a charm.....
God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |

right Cap, it doesn't happen to many folks but if it does it can be serious. There is a genetic predisposition to it or suscepitibilty theorized.

Naw, work comp aint like a bank, when it comes to late fee's sorry. As they will always cover their fanny and have an excuse to why the checks came late. ((Like, Opps, computer error)))
