RE: kinda freakin out
Just don't know, for you haven't been there yet. But, if in pain, why would they just stop medication? Doesn't sound logical. They can switch your meds around, but, if they did, you wont have withdrawals like you think, in fact possibly none at all.

RE: kinda freakin out
I would not worry about it at all. I am assuming you got a refferal from your treating dr. to see the PM dr.. On the first visit, there will probably be no change at all. Other than the SCS my PM DR. has done nothing other than increase my meds.. When I had a problem with his office staff and walked out on an appointment I went to my treating dr. and then he filled my meds.. I would not worry about the appointment. I WOULD have a clear mind and maybe even a list of pains that you have and talk about all of them at the first visit.

RE: kinda freakin out
Nothing to really wory about, I think that if the tramadol is working for you he would probably continue with it, being that it is a low boy on the narcotic scale.... But if he put you on somthing stronger he might have you stop, but as BBBB said you may not have any at all... Just be open with them about it and all will be ok....

RE: kinda freakin out
When I went to PM for the 1st time 4 years ago, I was taking 50mg of Tramadol 4x a day and Zanaflex 2x a day. I was also taking 500mg of tylenolwith every 50mg of Tramadol. I was in bigtime pain like a 7-8 on 0-10 pain scale.
The PM doctor immediately changed me to Hydrocodone 10/500 4x a day with Lyrica. The Tramadol and Zanaflex were completely eliminated. I had minimal withdrawal issues. Every month the PM Doctor worked with me and adjusted my meds. The Fentanyl patch, Lortab 10/500 5x a day, Lyrica, celebrex and ambien and other meds were the final adjustments after approx 3 months. My PM Doctor helped me tremendously. Work with him/her and a good PM Doctor will help your pain. 2011 Lexus Convertible |

inpainokla...it was a Doc from the spine instituet that was the court Doc I will have to get his name out of my records for you.....he gave me a 75% disabilty for my spine and cervical and 2% on other issues I had....he was also the one that wrote the letter to the judge that said if taken care of in a timely manner I would have been back to work....
