how do i file taxes?

Since she works, and you don't why isn't she claim the child and not you? She would get more back that way. Why hasn't she filed her taxes? She needs to pay a tax preparer to do her taxes before it gets out of control. Did she ever file taxes?

she just didnt file good question. i made taxable icome not much less than 4k so that puts me in the low bracket and i would get tax credits for not making much thats why i would claim my son

And yet your Married to her???? And you don't know why she is not filing taxes???

i know its important to file and pay your taxes but the severity of it depends on the ammount of money were talking obout..if your only talkin about 4000 dollars or so it still needs to be filed but there not gonna put an a.p.b out for her..now if shes making in the 20 30 40 thousand dollar a year range and not filing it can and will catch up to here and there are severe penalties for not taking care of this kinda stuff as BBBB said you need to handle it before it gets to that point
