reinstating benefits
I am seeking information on how one would go about reinstating their benefits. My friend was receiving benefits in california and was arrested on a warrant as a result his benefits where stopped when he is released how does he go about reinstating his benefits? There was no settlement etc. his injury occured in prison while working as a inmate...any and all information will be helpful...

yes he fell off a work truck and had to have several surgeries he has a c shape in the leg now and will be on cruches the rest of his life

i just dont understand how he can get work comp benefits while working as an inmate and didnt know that the state paid for such insurance on inmates..but there are ppl here with way more knowledge than me that will be able to answer your question

what was he geting paid bc workers comp pays 66 2/3 of your normal pay im sure he wasnt making 20000-30000 dollars a year as an inmate..i remember i had a cousin in jail making license plates and made like 40 cents per day

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone.You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life,you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

if the state or county has a program for prison labor then your friend should contact them and find out what entity is providing coverage. if they have a policy then the carrier should be contacted; if they are self-insured then they can give your friend the claims administrator contact information.
