Sent home after light duty!
i live in oklahoma, Dr. released me for light duty, I had acdf 3 levels c-5, c-6, c-7 back in October of 2008. I went back to work last week and after working 3 hours I could not stand the pain, back of neck, shoulders, arms, the pain also went down into my legs. i informed my supervisor and he informed me to go home and contact treating dr. which I did. The pain is now worse than before my surgery, my quality of life has gone down hill. It has been a long road and I go back to the Dr. on the 6th for c-scan. Last c-scan showed one level not fused. I am 49 and have always had a very strong work ethnic i don't like being limited in what I have always enjoyed in life. Any help or advice would help, thank you.

RE: Sent home after light duty!
contact the carrier about vocational rehabilitation if the doctor restricts you permanently from the same type of work.
Oklahoma provides retraining and job placement.
you'll need a counselor to direct the program. Here's the approved list.

RE: Sent home after light duty!
You don't like being limited in what you always enjoyed in life, but now is the time to understand, you had a major surgery, and your going to be limited. You now need to alter your life style, and accept that this is you now for life. Once you accept this, your going to be much better with it.
