Still no settlement papers
I'am getting disscusted, Agreed to settle 6 weeks ago and still no settlement papers from IC, Talked to my attorney and he does not know what hold up is, He talked to IC attorneys and said we have set a court date for next month to maybe force there hand and still nothing. I wonder if they are just stalling till the day before court to send papers, I talked to Punk and she has already signed hers weeks ago, any thoughts on this???????????????

RE: Still no settlement papers
Sometimes these stubborn Bas@*^ds will wait until the very last second to pay or do anything, and then you get the ones that do it right like Punks. Figure this one out: I have been being underpaid for going on three Years now. All depositions have been done, they even Hired a Forensic Accountant to check out my claim, and the i/c Adjuster clearly stated in his Depo. that I've been getting paid wrong from Day ONE. This info. has all been turned into the Judge, the Forensic Accountant also stated I was being paid wrong, and this info. has been made aware to the Judge and admitted as evidence Months ago. There is still a small issue that has to be resolved, and even though they have readily admitted they owe me in front of God, The Country and The Judge, they will not pay me until the Judge hands down the ruling for them to pay me. And they are the ones keeping this open with their small issues that keep popping up that have nothing to do with my claim, just so they don't have to pay!! With the Penalty we are not talking small change here that they owe me, actually it's more than some of the settlements I've seen on here! That's just back pay!! It's a starving out psych game, one they shouldn't be allowed to play. You should have been signed and spending your Money by now!! It's frustrating Tuffy, I sure hope your papers come soon!!

RE: Still no settlement papers
This is all stories that we need to record and keep. This just establishes even more that we should make the American public aware that they are not protected at work. That they think they have insurance, but really they do not. This is so ridulous I don't even have the words to describe the stupidity of the game they play. They settled, so pay. But no...they will hang on to it to the last minute. This is crazy.

RE: Still no settlement papers
like someone posted before I think they put xx amount of dollars in a intrest bearing CD and draw the intrest off of it until they have to pay you. The more they have to pay the longer they make you wait. I swear sometimes i feel like the i/c is waiting for me to die so they won't have to pay.

RE: Still no settlement papers
rholmes, your not far off the mark. Do you realize how many Injured Workers who are out there that have absolutely no idea what their Rights are? And they have no Attorneys, no support, haven't found a site like this, and accept what ever the w/c and i/c tell them! The i/c makes soo much Money off of these People because they don't know they are being taken for a ride, or they get so disgusted they will do anything just to get w/c off of their Backs!! I've been at this three Years, and others on here a lot longer than me, and the Horror Stories I hear of some of these settlements are absolutely illegal and immoral!! It's a crying shame how we are treated, and I feel even sorrier for the ones who don't fight for what is theirs, and end up with nothing!! So Believe me, you are closer to the Truth than you think!!!

RE: Still no settlement papers
Hi all......I just met an old friend of my husband's a couple of weeks ago. We started talking and he was mentioning that he had a really bad back due to a work reletaed injry. He told me his story. Dear Lord did I feel bad. He was fired for filing the claim in the first place, had a union attorney handling all, ended up with a $13,000 settlment that by the time the attorney collected and all costs were paid he saw $500. I was appalled when he told me all of this. Limbo you'r eright. He knew nothing about his rights or even that he had anyting. He trusted him employer, WC IC and the attoreny and they all screwed him. How sad. CAP God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |
