I am so upset
This morning I went to my orthopedic doctor because one I am still having alot of pain in my wrist and hand also because a few weeks ago I picked up my son and heard a pop in my shoulder and it has been hurting ever since.
My Attorney told me to make the appointment and to let my doctor know about over compensating with my left hand/arm.

So The doctor came in the room and asked how I was doing and I said not good. I am still having pain in my wrist and now I hurt my left arm from over usgae picking up my son who weighs 38lbs.

So he looked at me and smurked and said there is no such thing as over compensating. And there is nothing more I can do for you.

So I said so how am I suppose to distribute the weight of my son when I can only pick up five pounds with my injured hand?
He said just do it and be careful.

This guy must have woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

Sounds like this doctor is in the pocket of the insurance company.

RE: I am so upset
I hope you told your lawyer about the doc's attitude! I would get a second opinion from another ortho before they send you to an IME of their choosing, like they did me. I wish you the best of luck!

RE: I am so upset
This was your Orthopedic? It sounds like you are at MMI in his/her opinion. The IC will probably jump on this bigtime.

What are you hoping for or expecting?
Have you had a FCE or A offering of Vocational training to help you find a sedentary job within your limitations?

RE: I am so upset
I called my attorney right when I left the doctors office, he was pissed. He said he deals with over usage all the time and he also said doctor has a reputation that when he is done with a patient he is done. On my work comp form they fill out he wrote on there MMI date for todays date, and then where it says future medical he put a question mark.
Well I have talked to another orthopedic doctor and he is willing to do one of two things a wrist fusion (which right now I have no range of motion anyways, and a fusion would eliminate just about all my pain or a wrist replacement which would stop the pain and would give me a great deal of motion in my wrist, which like I said.. I don't have any now.
I have had an FCE already and was given an impairment. No one has offered me anything.
I wish I could change doctors but here in Florida you are only allowed a one time change in doctor which I used up because my first doctor was a nitwit.
