Your injury/illness needs to be expected to keep you out of work for one year. Doesn't matter that you've only been out 5 months if your Dr. says you'll be out another 7-8 months. Make sense?

Ok. I misread that then.bummer.Since my doctor has cleared me to work with the following rstrictions "Patient can try careful RTW @ a sendentary, clean air environment" does that disqualify me for SSDI? The reason he did that is so I could apply for unemployment to keep me from going completely broke. I applied for unemployment, but was denied. Do u think that will disqualify me for SSDI? this is all so damn confusing.Just when I think it makes sense its turned sideways.

You must be unable to do any kind of work due to disability to get SSD. Sorry. I would go with the UE. Best of luck.

Being denied unemployment due to your medical condition gives you a stronger case with social security programs.

well like someone said earlier, "throw enough sh** against the wall and something will stick". January is my last month I can go without any help. I've applied for everything I can. hopefully something will stick.

There is a ray of sunshine. i went to an interview a couple weeks ago. I didnt think it went well at all. Well they just called me to come in for a 2nd interview.wonderful.Hopefully it'll go well and I cant stop worrying about if an insurance company is going to keep me off the street.

Best of luck maint...what you need to keep in mind here is SSD is for total disability..unless your Dr. states that you don't have a leg to stand on whereas with UE even with restrictions you are capable of working and can't find a job. Prayers will be said that this interview is your best and all ends positive for you.

Merry Christmas everyone.Well the interview went well today I think. I had a good conversation with them. It was the engineer and the general manager this time and I think it went really well. The job doesnt meet the restrictions my doctor has me on right now. Its not "sedentary" but it is away from the cobalt and carbide which has given me the respiratory problem.Does anyone have any idea how this might affect my wc claim if they offer me the job? Should I tell my attorney about these two interviews or should I wait to see if they offer me the job?

It wont effect your claim in any way nor is it anything for your atty to do until you land a job. The only issue for your claim is that it is not in conflict with your Drs. restrictions.
