Minor Scar at work
Here is the situation: I am a federally-employed nurse. A patient bit me and as a result I have a small scar on my upper arm. I filed the paperwork the night it happened. It is 1 year later and I still have a scar. Be it minor, it still bothers me. What ar ethe implications to this?

hello,
Its amazing that a patient bit you on your upper arm and you got a scar.If I would have been to your place I would have slaped that patient.I hope that your injury and scar.. thank you!! greent |

Since your only recourse is via the federal workers compensation system you might ask for an evaluation for permanent impairment. While I do not know if the Federal System relies on the AMA Guides to Impairment I can tell you that if they do, a minor scar not involving the face or substantially disfiguring is generally not compensated.
