PPD Award Question
Ohio Here

Hi Everyone,

I had my last IC hearing to increase the percentage. The hearing officer did increase it on 9/25/09 from 1% to 5%. After a long drawn out fight with the company, the hearing officer said I have shown proof that my left foot was injured by using it to heal the right foot, so I was granted the add on from falling at work July 08.

1. How long is it before the PPD award is paid out? I thought 14 days, well if that is the case, it is late. I rec'd a check for TTD for my right foot July 09. I don't understand the process, does anyone know? I can't seem to get a straight answer from my attorney. Heck, I don't even know how much will paid out

2. Because I have reached MMI, but have not reached a settlement offer, and I need to see a Dr about the R injured foot, because I am having problems again. Do I go to my own Dr or WC Dr?

Netta

RE: PPD Award Question
ohio uses a managed care organization for treatment if you want to change doctors you have to get approval from the MCO.

RE: PPD Award Question
Netta I think here in Oh they have 30 days to cut that check for you.
You stated that they increased your PPD to 5%. They should of already paid you for the 1% PPD. You got a 4% increase. take your increase percent times 2 would be 8. They owe you 8 weeks of PPD.
So 8 times the average weekly wage in the state of OH, is what the dollar amount you will get. I hope this helps you.

Cervical Fusion 2003, c5-c6. Herniated and damaged Disc L1- L4-L5 S1. Lumbar Spinal Cord stimulator implant 09-2008. Cervical ACDF revision with hardware c4-c5-c6-c7 Sept 2009.
SSDI approved 3-2010. NOW OFFICIALY RETIRED

Thank you all for your help, now I have an idea where I stand. I have not even received the 1%, and that was decided upon way back at the beginning of August. Maybe my attorney is holding on to it, until the rest comes in. I will have to check to to see if this is the case.
