Partial disability benefit
Hi everyone.
I am in WA state. In January I injured my shoulder at work and subsequently required surgery late in March - rotator cuff repair, acromion decompression, and another procedure I can never remember the name of lol.
I am very happy with the outcome, I barely have any pain left and movement is almost how it was. That's where the crux of the matter lies. Almost!
Prior to my injury I worked as a Line cook, something I really enjoyed. It is however, heavy physical work and I know that with my reduced movement and especially the lack of strength in the arm/shoulder, I cannot return to this profession.
I was given no info by L & I with regards to partial disability payment, they are very close lipped about this. Up until today I had no idea that this was even an option, I stumbled over it by accident.

My question is, where do I go to address this? What should be my first step etc.

I would be glad for any input since a phone call to L&I left me in the same spot as I was before - in the dark.

Thank you so much for all the help and a speedy recovery to all of you that are still healing.

Gabriele

your physician is a good starting point as all disability benefits has to be based on medical evidence.
