Mediation
I know here in Florida if you file a PFB usually about three months there will be a mediation. Usually at the comp building we have here.
But if the insurance company wanted to settle and whatever can't there be a conference of some type at my attorney's office? And wouldn't it actually be cheaper for the other attorney's? |

RE: Mediation
they arent worried about paying their attorneys they are on retainer...and would rather pay their attonery 1000 dollars than you one dime...
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

But can they still do a mediation at my attorneys office instead of downtown at the work comp building? I had filed a PFB and from that therewas a mediation set. But I figured we could go to my attorney's office and do a mediation/confrence whatever there. |

RE: Mediation
If mediation is appropriate, the Administrator collects information about the conflict and invites the other person involved in the conflict to mediation.
If all are in agreement to mediate, two mediators are assigned to conduct the mediation session. The Administrator schedules the mediation at a time that is mutually agreeable to all participants. Mediations are usually held at a City Hall type setting. A letter is sent to confirm the time, date, location, and who will attend the mediation. Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor. |

RE: Mediation
Yes. If the IC and your attorney agree, they can do a private mediation. Also if the issues are settled prior (either issues separately or entire claim settled), the mediation can be canceled.

RE: Mediation
You already had an offer? Have you reached MMI? Do you have an impairment rating?
Work restrictions? |
