Oregon is very lovely
Hi all, just wanted to say that Oregon is very lovely. It has nature which is greater than any words could describe. The douglas fir trees appear to be reaching into the sky with many different birds flying in and around them. We have a red headed woodpecker out here who is majestic and her continual tap tap tap tap is similer to listening to a drummer lightly tap on his or her drum set. It rings musically in to my ears and creates a moment of relaxation that is great for me. It is sort of like sitting to listen to the waves or something such as that. Then my new found buddies the deer. We have an entire family who are becoming quit the pets. The buck is now coming closer. The fawns have no fear of me or Del. The love the old apples we feed them and they love to play. Did you know that if you put two fawns together in a non threatning environment that they will remind you of two small puppies playing. Did you know that a buck will walk away from an apple that he wanted and allow the doe to enjoy it. I could not believe that when I saw it. There is a small stream that flows just south of where we are living. We can see glimmers of it as the sun shines it rays on it. We can hear the rumbling of the water as it moves quickly across the streams rocks. Oregon is so beautiful that I have to wonder why I lived in a busy city for so long.

On the other hand, my heart is heavy and my eyes are filled with tears everytime I remember my 3 grand daughters and 1 grand son that I left behind. My oldest is my dream child, but I think you all know that. Alexia is wise beyond her years. Did you know that the first day that Del left to go to Oregon, she stayed with me. I don't remember the day but she told me a lot about it. Mostly she told me not to worry for she is not a traumatized child. Wow..is she smart, trying to take care of her grandmother's feelings. Then my Brianna Carol who is 4 and takes my hand and tells me how special I am... then of course we hurry off to have a great tea party. Then there is my Sabrina who is 5 and goes to dancing school and loves to tap for me. Her face radiates with joy as she shows her grandmother her new steps and I clap my hands with joy and love for her. Then there is my Dominic.... did I ever tell you that when he laughs he laughs by wrinkling up his entire face...his nose wrinkles and his eyes twinkle. He is only 1, so I have to ask myself if he will ever really know his papa and I.

So now I asked myself is Oregon worth the loss of the above. Ok, I know..I will see them again, actually we talk on web cam, and sent text messages back and forth, and talk on the phone at least everyother day, but I so want to hold them all and do our group hug with our now little dominic in the middle of the hug. He loves to be in there. The answer is yes, it is good to be here and I am keeping my fingers crossed that soon and often we will get to vist with our grandchildren in NJ or Pa... it is so nice to be here with Victoria. She is turning 7 this next month. I can't believe how fast they are all growing up. Did I tell you that we have a 6th grand child coming in February of 2010. Wow.. grandchildren are a gift. Oregon is a gift. You are all a gift and I think God for each of you and the impact you have had on my life.

[attachment=607] Look how close this buck is to our back door. I am inside about 4 feet from the door to take this pic.

[attachment=608] He is now leaving, but leaving without a thought or fear of us. This concerns me becasue will he know to get out of the way of the hunters this week. I hope so.

Hope you all have a great week. Love Red

Red,
It is so great to hear how content you are with your new home. I am so happy to hear that upbeat tone in your writing. It seems like it is such a peaceful place and the nature you are surrounded by is so wonderful. When you mentioned the water from the creek running I could actually imagine hearing that sound because I love the sound of water. You keep up the good work my sweet lady. Stay positive and remember we I am here for you. Tell Dell hello for me. Take care, God Bless and always remember, I love ya, Sis.

Red Dear, it's so Great to Feel the Happiness and Contentedness in Your Words!! Don't Worry about that Buck, He looks Like a Young One, but They have a Defense Mechanism in Them to know when Danger is Near! Just be Careful when the Rut Starts, I'm not Sure when it Starts in Oregon, but the Buck can become Very Territorial, and Aggressive, as They Only have One thing in Mind, and They'll Fight to get it!!Smile I have had Friends that Hunt Archery when the Bucks are in Full Rut Here, and Many have been Challenged by a Buck when They have Crossed The Buck's Territory getting to Their Tree Stands. They are Surely Great and Majestic Animals, I Used to Love to Hunt, not Mainly for the Kill, I Used to always Say I was Taking My Gun for a Walk, and if a Big One Came by, I'd Take the Shot!!Tongue I just Loved Walking and Seeing how close I could get to them in the Wild! I think Hunting and Riding My Motorcycle are the Things I Miss the Most since this Injury!! Give Del My Best, and it's Great to See You are Happy!!Smile

Red- from you writing it sound like you are happy and content in your new home. I am glad for you. We are moving and sure wish someone else was doing all this packing. John is very happy about where we are moving as it is only out the back door to the river and 2 blocks to the camp ground that he and his friend go to all the time.

May God send his angels to hold you in his arms

RE: Oregon is very lovely
Red,

I live in WA state and I think Oregon and Washington are the most beautiful states in the country. I lived in other parts of the country and out of country, but this is my true home, here in WA state. I just can't get enough of the clear air, the evergreens, the mountains, the rivers and lakes and of course, the ocean. Also, all these wild life even close to cities, are unbeliveable.
Enjoy it and I am sure your grandkids will visit you soon.

Kat

RE: Oregon is very lovely
Red I am happy for you and Del.

Congratulations on your move!

I use to live outside of Seattle.

I miss the west coast and it took an adjustment to move back to Kansas.

But Kansas is also beautiful country.
