There is a few leadership theories that may be based from exactly what Wink said. Transactional theory says simply put that people complete task due to the rewards they will recieve, i.e. pay, at a boys, self esteem, group acceptance etc...whereas the newer schools of thought speak to a person completing a project related to their ethics, morals, belief's, and over all definition of self in their enviroment. Most of our leadership theories are old school and follow the transactional theory base, which encourages people to do for rewards versus to do because that is who they are. Also the old school of thought encourages people to define themselves by what they accomplish such as on a job... like I am a nurse versus I work as a nurse etc. Just a thought. Red
