Fusion problem
Back in 2005 I had a fusion. L5-S1.
The other day I had a mylogram and a CT Scan done to see if there was any scar tissue. I just finished reading the medical results and noticed on both reports it says "There is incomplete fusion of the disk space. the alignment is normal. There is no evidence for extravasation of the contrast." With all that said, has anyone had a problem with the fusion not fusing????? If so, what was done to correct the situation???? I do relize the the screws and plates are in place and holding. I am just interested in what may happen next. Thank You 8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom. |

RE: Fusion problem
My fusion started but seems to be slow....I am curious to know as well as this was the same question I never got an answer to.
When I asked my doctor he just said I will fuse....Ive asked a few others and got the answer of "Oh the screws and plates will hold!".............? "You can't fix a problem with the same level of thinking that created it to begin with" |

RE: Fusion problem
I Wish I had an Answer for You AQA, but I have Never had a Fusion! I do Wish You the Very Best though, and if this gets to Bothering You too Long, Maybe You could Call Your Dr.'s PA and Ask Them a Few Questions, that may Ease Your Mind! I Hate having to Wait for Test Results to be Explained to Me, so I know How You Feel!

RE: Fusion problem
I would think, even if a non-fusion, it will be ok. Since there is a plate and screws that holds it all together. The only problem would be, if the part added in to make the fusion would move, then there would be a problem. But, if it hadn't moved by now, it most likely won't move.
