Mileage reimbursement
State of Iowa
I was wondering about mileage reimbursement. Can I get it? I live like 45 minutes away from the doctor and OT that I have to go to regularly, not sure of the miles I travel but can I get reimbursed for those miles traveled to get there? LIke this week I was at OT will be 3 different times, and last week was there 4 different times. What do I need to do to get reimbursed for those miles? Gas is expensive right now. also, how long does it usually take to get a check for all the meds I have been paying out of pocket? I am just really confused about this whole deal, and my employer just acts all pissed off that I even made out a claim so I can't really talk to her about it. Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Nanci |

RE: Mileage reimbursement
Have you been assigned an insurance adjuster? If you do not have a lawyer and you know how to contact your adjuster you can give the round trip mileage to him/her and get paid. My first adjuster use to wait the 30 days to cut me a check because he wanted the bill to come first to prove I went to that appointment.
This new adjuster I have I just email him my mileage or fax it to him and he sends me the check right away. I have a good relationship with him and he trusts me when I put my miles in and that is why he does not wait for the bill before he pays me. As far as medication I have no idea because I use to have an insurance card that I use to use when I got my meds. Then after the hearing I lost all my meds. being paid for through wc due to the IME doctor saying I did not need any. If I were you I would keep a log like I did when I went to OT and PT and at the end of the week I would send in my mileage because it took so long to get it (30 days). carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10% |

RE: Mileage reimbursement
On the Main Page of this Forum, You will Find a Tab "Info.by State". You should be able to Find Some Answers and Possible Phone Numbers there. I'm not from Your State, but I'm sure the Tab will Help, and Hopefully Someone will be along Soon!!
