i NEED HELP
What should I do?
state PA
Hello everyone

ok..I lift alot of boxes at work and days ago I was lifting a box with someones help and when I went to put it down i felt something move on my sternum (breast bone) and it only hurt a little but dint think it was something bad. Then i went home after work and late evening my chest started to hurt and I went to bed.

I woke up at 5:00am coughfing and i coulnt breathe or move my chest so a family member took me to the nearest ER and I told the doctor what had happened to me and gave me a workers comp form to take to my boss, and i did the same day i got out of the hospital.

Today I filed a report and my boss gave me the number of the clinic i had to go to.After I went to the clinic the lady that was there told me they didnt have a works comp doctor for over 2 1/2 years.I called my boss but he told his assnt that he was busy that he was gonna call me later and he never did so i called my job and his assnt told me that he already went home and she acted like she forgot. She gave me 3 more doctors clinic to go but the offices are no longer there (I also called ).

What can I do? I feel like they are not taking my situation seriously.

RE: i NEED HELP
I am unfamiluar with your state laws and regs.. I would be on the phone in the morning with the local WC agency and see what they have to say. You may also want to call some local dr. offices and see if they take WC patients.

There are two main issues here. 1) you don't want to damage yourself further. 2) getting medical attention.

Start making calls in the morning.

8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom.

RE: i NEED HELP
In PA your employer can't legally just send you to a clinic (although they often do); they must provide you with a list of the panel doctor's and you can choose from that list. If they do not provide the list, you can treat with whoever you want. Call your family doctor and get an appointment. There will probably be billing issues initially. This sounds like it is going to become interesting, so you may want to consider seeing a lawyer sooner rather than later.

The best thing about Mr. Belt is that he does not have the "Call me, I'm the best" attitude. Thanks for all your help Mr. Belt!!!

RE: i NEED HELP
That's true. In fact, there are at least 3 or 4 lawyers in the state that are better than I am.
