RE: Has this ever happened to you?
sis249...hi. This is just my opinion, but I believe that your employer wants you to work light duty versus staying home to avoid loss time accident days. I don't remember how long you have been out, but after a certain number of loss work time days, most W/C IC and employers contracts have an increase of money that he employers must pay to the IC. This increase continues for the next years as decribed in the contract, which is usually about 5 years. They may be nearing that point. However, has your doctor released you to light duty? If not, your employer should not be talking to you about returning to work. He should be talking to the W/C physician to find out where you are in the healing process and what your limitations are. Then the doctor should call you to tell you that you can go to work and with what limitations. I hope this helps some. Best of luck.

RE: Has this ever happened to you?
I agree with red. Before stepping foot back into your work, find out your restrictions and make sure to get them in writing. Also, keep a copy of the restrictions for your records, we all know that companies either will say they lost them or they never received them. When I hand my restrictions over, I always make my boss sign them and then I give him the copy. Ive learned the hard way and now I make sure to have my butt covered at all times. (thanks badboy).
About the wc dr, I would call him/her to try and schedule the appt if youre able to. What the point of being approved for medical coverage if you still arent getting treated. I would also ask your attorney to send a letter to light a fire under their behinds. Good luck! |

RE: Has this ever happened to you?
My suggestion is if the w/c Dr. is waiting too long to make an appt., go to your PCP, explain your situation and ask for a slip relieving you of work until you can get proper care from the Co.'s Dr. That should slow work down a little and maybe speed up your appt. Best of Luck!!
