What type of material is SCS encased in?
Good morning all-

I had an odd thought just now. I cannot wear any jewelry that is not "real". Fake silver and gold break me out almost instantly. Anyone know if any metal will actually touch my body? God it would be just my luck to have a great game plan and then be benched for the "big game".

It happened in this order:
1)Bilateral Carpal Tunnel
2)Ulnar neuopathy
3)Complex Regional Pain Syndrom right upper extremity
4)Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.

Not sure if diferant companies make then out of the same stuff or not. I'm not sure what mine is made out of but if you know which one they will be using you should be able to check their website or call them.

I also cannot wear jewelry but its the "nickle" you are most likely reacting to... its what they use to harden the soft precious metals....real 24 karot gold would be to soft to wear....tell your docs you are allergic to metal....many are that is why other than the first stick your IVs are now plastic...I cant even wear the fillings the dentist use.

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

Thank you so much for the slap on the forehead, seriously. I have never told my doctors about this allergy. We always think medication allergies when asked "any allergies" from the nurses..I will update my doctors Monday to make sure I get the right SCS if the trial gets approved. You are a jewel!

DO make sure you tell the doctor long before the trial. During the trial you will only have the leads in your back, the machine will be outside. But the last thing you want is them next to your spine if they could cause any problems.
