RE: kneeless and nervous
Hi rhomes....I was one of the lucky ones. Only injured one knee, had PT and ultrasound for months and it was fine. Didn't know the buckling was permanent until I was injured in '06. I really nurse the lower body because itinvolves my back, knee and ankle. Took one year for the ankle swelling to go down. I have much larger problems in the upper body. Cervical and left shoulder and now possibly a Brachial Plexus injury that came from I don't no where. I believe my knee is as it is due to heavy lifting for years after the 1st back injury from a squat position. Good Lord what hard work, and going and going does to our bodies. I can still see half of my staff refusing to do certain jobs because they were too strenuous. Well her eI sit with no paycheck. in pain and they are all still at work , not hurting them selves and getting paid for doing half the job. Am I dumb or just have a different work ethic? CAP God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |

capricorn Wrote: Hi Caap No you are not dumb, some people believe in doing their job the right way. To bad we become the underdog in the end. I see we all mostly have the same problems, I have been dealing with my injuries for the past 15 almost 16 years. Never got any settlement and I am still waiting I was forced to work in pain daily or lose everything I had. So I know what you mean when you say you are tired fed up and just want to scream, but hang in their keep saying your prayers and things will begin to happen. AND KNOW THIS WE MUST BE STRONG TO BE WHERE WE ARE TODAY, WE GOT UP EVERYDAY IN PAIN AND WORKED AND WORKED UNTIL OUR BODIES GAVE OUT, SO YES YOU ARE STRONG good luck |

RE: kneeless and nervous
Well last night the wife and I had a serious talk and elected to sell our house and move to a townhome that a friend owns who will rent it to us cheap. This should cut our bills by over half. I'm still really nervous as I don't know what's going to happen. I know that the significantly smaller paychecks are rough!
I'm waiting for the WC ins to say yah or nah on the injections for my knee. If the employer has to hold my job for six months, is that from the date of injury or from the date of surgery? I continued to work for nearly two months after my injury and my surgery was on May 16th? Well anyways, I'm going to be making some decisions here soon about the future. It's obvious that I cannot do the job description as I am now and reading through posts here, the knee replacement will put me at some level of dissabilty and I won't be allowed to even try to meet the job description. Still feeling like the toilet got flushed and I'm swimming agianst the current. Funny how you think you are protected at work and your not! |

RE: kneeless and nervous
Kneeless.......I am sorry you have to sell your home but always remember "home is where the heart is" As long as you have your family with you it doesn't matter what roof covers your heads. As far as your employer holding your job for 6 months is that something YOUR employer does. The only thing I know of that protects your job and benefits is FMLA which lsts for 12 weeks, so I think I've lost you somewhere. My FMLA ran out last OCt. Have been on unpaid leave ever since. I pay my own benefits, have not been terminated YET. Also waiting for the Judge to say "yah" or "nay". Don't know how long it will take to be terminated. I have been out of work for over a year and KNOW I can never return to my job. The norm for my employer is not to terminate an IW worker. They've given all my work to 4 different people, are getting the job done and saving my salary and benefits. Alot of $$$$ kept in thier pocket. I am wishing you the best in all of your endeavors. You are right to start making changes and plans. Life goes on inspite of WC. rholmes........Yes it is the hard working person with a good work ethic that ends up on these boards. Sad but true. I also have many body parts that have been beaten over the years that I never claimed as work related but they are. I just kept gong and going. Sometimes with a screaming body. This injury involving 5 body parts was the end of the road for me. Too many permanently injured parts for me to keep going. Too much pain now . It's a push to even shower and dress. God be with all IW, CAP God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |

It seems like getting a hold of an attorney is a difficult process. Everyone is too busy to call back or the one who does is always too busy to talk
