RE: ssdi dr apt
My brother in law just went through this process. In his case, he was first told to see one doctor, and after that, was told to see another, different profession, and again another and another.
After he had seen them all, it was only a few weeks when he got the results. I'm sure though, each State is different. Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. RE: ssdi dr apt
Blake most people are rejected first time out some even 2nd time many dont get it till 3rd time...that can take years.......and you dont get back pay to date of injury at least I didnt...I got it from when Doc said I was MMI a full 2 years and 4 months after I got hurt....I got 3 months back pay but that was welcome....

Blake
When I applied for SSDI I setup my interview to be done in the office. I took my medical records with me, doctor's names, address & phone numbers with me to the appointment. The in-take case manager shared with me that many times an applicant is turned down because Social Security Administration dosen't have the correct or enough information to make the right decision. As a result the applicant is denied SSD or SSDI. This recently happened to a friend of mine. She worked as a floor nurse and was injured at work resulting in a very serious spinal injury. This spinal injury is listed in the SSA blue book. Yet my friend was denied, the attorney she hired after the denial found a doctor did not submit to SSA the medical records on the spinal injury. This resulted in the denial. A reconsideration has been requested, my friend is told she will receive an answer on the denial or approval this month. |

RE: ssdi dr apt
Blake,
Just as with WC, each state varies on how long it takes to get you an answer.. depending upon how backed up their system is. And as Jayne said, you may not get full back pay to March, as it will depend upon when and if SSDI decides you were disabled. I am hoping that mine will be taken back to August 2008 when I was pulled from work the last time, but probably won't be considered in which case, it will have to be when I was approved for LTD retroactive to Feb. 22, 2008. As stated previously, I haven't sent paperwork to attorney at this point as I was gathering up all info on Dr's I have been seeing/seen since all my health problems that they will be using to determine disability. But they will be going out, 2 day express first thing in the morning. I doubt I will hear anything before the end of the summer. Angel ^j^ I've always been crazy, but it keeps me from going insane. ************ Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open |

RE: ssdi dr apt
I recenty read on a SS Attorney's web site, that they say it is not neccesary to bring your medical documents and such with to the Social Security Office.
I have to say, I feel that is wrong. For I brought every document, report, printed my X-Rays, and brought copies of every mri, cat scan, meylogram with me. Then a full list of medication I was taking, and a list of all the ones I'm allergic too. A well detaled list of Doctor's, Surgeon's, and PT people, Phone numbers, Fax numbers, addresses. So, like in Bummers friends case the missing document will show SS the what is missing from your record, and they will question that doctor then, and it helps stop delays. RE: ssdi dr apt
It would cost me an arm, leg and half my torso to send all the medical records that I have to my attorney. Therefore, I am going to let them gather them...or SS, whichever. Heck, my pain management file is over 200 pgs and wc is over 100. That doesn't include 2 pcp's, nuerologist, psychiatrist, 2nd pain management from Vegas, hospitalization records from Vegas, wc from vegas (that file ended up being over 500 pgs), ER records from 2 hospitals, and then all the different diagnostic locations that I have had to go to (9 in all). It would take a small Uhaul to get them all to my attorney.
And, as we all know .. very well .. most of us that are on WC and applying for SSDI aren't made of money. So I will let the Attorney earn his wages. Angel ^j^ I've always been crazy, but it keeps me from going insane. ************ Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open |
