On 3/5 I fractured my ankle while on an errand at work. I am in an inflatable boot for 4 weeks. I was off work for one week. My insurance has a $500 deductible. Will my employer pay this? What paperwork do I need to complete? Thank you!

The State You were in when Injured is Needed to Give You Better Info., but I would Say You need to File an Incident Report with Your Employer, and the Co. should File a w/c Claim. That's if Your Co. has W/C Ins. So as I said above Your State is Needed for a Better Answer!

workers comp does not have "deductibles". sounds like this is not a work comp claim.

I meant that my insurance has a deductible and the injury was sustained on a work-related task.

You shouldn't be using personal health ins. to cover a work related injury unless your claim was denied by WC.

You didnt say weather what your outcome is, are you healed. Dou you need more care. If it is somthing that is going to bother you or impair you I would ask your employer and tell him to file a claim with WC. But if you feel it's not worth the trouble and you are going to be fine then maybe Talk to your employer about paying for you medical.

In Illinois you have 45 days to inform your employer of your work injury and to fill out an injury report.
If your employer has WC ins, then you need to file a claim and WC should cover your injury 100% if you use your personal ins, then you will most likely be responsable for the deductable.
If you have a HR dept, talk to them. Good luck
