RE: Schedule Award
if you are asking are you gonna get big money the answer is NOPE......so to get the ball rolling we need your state (as WC is different state to state)and your injuries......if you come out of this with what you started with you are gonna be lucky...many on here lost everything they owned "waiting" for WC to do what was right....many on this board are totally disabled and collecting SSDI from SS and still "waiting" on WC to kick in...just because you and your Doc say you are disabled doesnt mean WC will....it is a mess unto itself....welcome to our world.....
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: Schedule Award
Just so I understand, when you say you have multiple claims...are you talking about multiple injuries from the same accident, or are you saying that you had multiple accidents.
Also, when you talk about a schedule award...are you talking about a settlement? Or an Impairment award? Or something else. Thanks. |

RE: Schedule Award
I am only guessing here, but if both injuries lead to a permanent impairment, I would expect taht you would get an award for both. That would be a good question to jot down and then ask a lawyer at a free consultation, if you don't already have one.

God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |

Most schedule awards are small relatively speaking. It can take some time to receive your award as well. When you try to place a price on a physical injury it is very difficult. There is no way you could ever be paid what you deserve for your pain and suffering. But you also have to balance pain with actual limb loss. In many cases folks with no limb loss will suffer much more pain than those who have lost a limb. But workers compensation will always, and rightly so, award more money to amputees than those who suffer pain and limited mobility but retain the limb. It's a hard balance and some times it can seem unfair. Back pain sufferers seem to get the worst end of the deal. They can't even claim a schedule award, unless a limb is affected, for their injury. Or at least thats the way it is with Federal Workers Compensation. And those suffering back pain and severe back injury know how hard it is to just move some days. So in closing I will say the schedule award system is not perfect. But perhaps it's the best it can be at the present time. |
