RE: Right shoulder injury....1st time WC
Thanks Bernie for your reply. I did have inflammation and swelling but they treated that with a Toradol injection (which I still have a bump in my butt at the injection site) and a steroidal injection and the swelling has gone down because most of my range has come back but I still have pain reaching behind my back to pull up the zipper on my skirt and when I fully extend my arm up to reach across to grab my left shoulder. I still can no do these activities after 4 weeks. I do not have redness but I do occasionally get bad sweating, particularly under my arms and hot episodes. I will just keep monitoring it for now. I have been visiting some body builder forums and they discuss bicipital tendonitis frequently. Body builders tend to get alot of injuries.
Jayne, You are right about the antibiotics. This is why the staph infection in hospitals called MRSA is becoming antibiotic resistant. I rarely take antibiotics for this very reason unless absolutely necessary. I remember one time I had developed a UTI because the classic symptoms were there and at the clinic they took a urine sample and put a test stripe in it and it came up negative. But I was absolutely certain I had a UTI and asked if she could please just give me a few antibiotics until they cultured my urine sample at a lab. If you do not deal with a UTI soon, it can spread to the kidneys and create a much larger, more painful problem. They agreed and sure enough my culture came back postive and they ordered me a refill. I think most of us have a hunch about certain things. BTW, I like your Margaret Thatcher quote! |
