Right shoulder injury....1st time WC

Hi Bernie,

Thanks for sharing. I am glad that I have people here with which I can relate and talk with. I hope I can continue to talk with others about our injuries. I really believe it helps to have others to talk with who are going through similar things.

I just got back from seeing the orthopedic doc today and after initial examination he says I have bicipital tendonitis. I also starting some stretching exercises and will continue to do the PT even though I tend to be my own doctor. I work as a nursing assistant so I am doing a lot of research. I also stoped by the emergi center where I had first visited and the doctor there burned my x-ray to a cd and I do have copies of every doctor visit so far.

My greatest concern is my age. The older you get the more degeneration you have which makes you a greater risk for tendon and muscle tears because of lack of cellular power and lack of oxygen rich blood to those aging tendons and muscles. I will continue my course of treatment but I will tell you I did not take any Ibuprofen for about 1 day prior to my visit with the ortho so he could get a REAL assessment of my injury, not one masked over with large doses of IB.

But if one thing is for sure.........I have no doubt injuried myself and the ortho doc said that it may take 8-12 weeks before I may see any real improvement. So I will continue doing the PT and just take it one day at a time.

I remember the night I reported my injury and I was sent to this emergi center and I overheard the female doc saying to someone outside my (shut) door that people try to get all kinds of payments from WC so they can buy a house or an SUV. I knew she was talking about me. If she actually thinks I can buy a house or an SUV on 2/3rds of my pay of just $10.75 an hour she living in UTOPIA!!!!!! I just bit my tongue and chalked it off as stupidity and ignorance and most of all a general lack of compassion.

Tim Belt will be my lawyer if this gets out of hand. But like you said, they probably will not order one because they think they will not get paid by WC.......so if I have to get a lawyer........I will!
