RE: Nasty employer....
good one Lilly.....so I suggest you tell your supervisor that because you cant remember all her orders you will be recording all conversations with her to keep the recording legal and your memory fresh..make sure you get that part recorded...and her mouth shut...lol
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: Nasty employer....
Unfortunatly till one walks in our shoes they have no idea of what we go through. The pain we endure and the harrassement of other people thinking because they do not see blood pouring from our bodies that we are all fakes or because we just want to stay home and collect money. We all know this is nowhere near what we would like to be doing or to be back to not being injured in the first place.
I like the rest would give anything to have my career back that I loved. This nurse/manager that is going around telling everyone that they are not getting a raise has no idea what she is talking about. Nurseing has always had terrible pay raises for people who work so hard at their jobs. It is very unfortunate and especially now that the economy is going bad it is only going to get worse. This lady needs to watch the news more. I have just been laid off and my last day is Monday the 2nd. There is no construction jobs out there coming our way for awhile that we see. The only work they have is in Saudi Arabia. I will be darn if I accept that. You keep sticking to your restrictions and if they cannot keep you within them you should be taken out of work. The only way I was sent back to Light duty was IF it was within my restrictions. Other than that I would of been home collecting. Finding a job for me one handed was very hard for them, but they did. Making me sit there like a bug on a wall watching patients of how long they waited till they saw the doctor. How boring is that??? I luckily got a job offer within my restrictions and left. If you can find a job within your restrictions elsewhere I would look. If not, just go to work everyday and do your job the way your doctors states you should be and ignore the ignorance. I know it is hard but I would to dispite them. Contact your lawyer and see if there is anything you can do for information about your injury being given out to the whole workplace? This in itself should be illegal!!!!!!! If not, this manager woman should lose her job for what she has been doing. Wouldn't that be nice to see her lose her job because of her big mouth????? I would definitly do something about that. Maybe after she is fired you all could get a pay raise from her income..LOL carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10% |

RE: Nasty employer....
Injured@Work,
You should call your local EEOC(Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) and request an investigation how your employer harrassing you because of your disability. Believe me, even if nothing comes out of it, but it would be on record(meaning the harrassment) and no employer likes to be investigated. It was very helpful for me just to mention EEOC when my employer tried to make me quit, it stopped them for a while. Good luck. Kat |

RE: Nasty employer....
yes, I once printed out the discrimination description from the official EEOC site, when my superior was treating me less than equal, and calling me names in person, on memo's, introducing me to customer's, and new employees...with his teeth grinding nick name he had given to me.
I proudly propped that Discrimination info, on top of my desk. It was more or less a warning to him....as I'd already contacted a lawyer about the problem, and was planning to nail him hard...low and behold...the printed info worked sufficient wonders! Lilly
Injured worker, & tired of it all! I'm too old for games!! A careless word may kindle strife, a cruel word may wreck a life, a timely word may level stress, and a loving word may heal and bless! |
