A crazy morning, the Dr. appointment that didn't happen!

RE: A crazy morning, the Dr. appointment that didn't happen!
Bummer, I found Post-Op schedule medical follow ups for the knee replacement;

The next scheduled follow-up visit is at 3 months after surgery; then at 6 months, one year, two years, five years, seven years, ten years, and then annually. If for any reason closer follow-up is needed, more frequent office visits may be arranged. It is extremely important to keep these appointments, even when you are feeling well.

Hi halftrak
I did call my attorney from the doctor's office and learned he was out of town and won't be back until Monday.

Bad Boy
I have the name of the person in the doctor's office the wc case manager spoke to.
I also have a copy of the fax the case manager sent the office worker.
Don't know if this will mean anything.

The wording of the fax made one thing very clear, I have a case manager that is very upset with me.

Bad Boy

What do you think is their reasoning behind delaying until after I see the IME doctor?

Well, If the IME states you don't need treatment, then I think it will be pretty clear.

The IC is hoping things go their way on the Coin Toss is all.

Bad Boy

I will have the nerve conduction test for the back Feb 17th, next Tuesday. My attorney wants the result right away.

I had another one of those scary spells today. I was out shopping had that heavy weighted numbness in my legs with intense pain. Had trouble moving my foot.
It wasn't as bad as a few weeks ago.

RE: A crazy morning, the Dr. appointment that didn't happen!
I spoke with my attorney this afternoon. He started laughing when I told him what happened. I read him the fax the case manager sent to the doctor's office denying treatment. My attorney knew right away the case manager got the knees mixed-up.
I sent him a fax of the fax.

He said he would e-mail the case manager.

I didn't realize the case manager had the power to deny treatment. I have been told that is up to the adjuster; deny or grant treatment.

Am I right 1171?

Bummer, what a horrendous journey you are having! I hope the rest of it all goes a bit smoother for you!

Your case manager must be related to mine, mean and evil! lol! My hospital transcribed one of my follow up visits incorrectly from drs. dictation, stating left instead of right. I got the most amazing voice mail accusing me of scamming the IC. Did she actually think I went out and broke my other leg, the exact same way? Oh, I forgot, the IC doesn't make errors!!

Your nerve issues sound awful, are they treating you with anything?

Hope all goes well for you next week~

RE: A crazy morning, the Dr. appointment that didn't happen!
Bummer...I had a feeling she messed up which knee , maybe intentionally??? I will share a tidbit with you that my attorney told me several times. When an IW OR a treating Dr, facitlity, ect. asks for authorization the IC can say whatever they want. I had my adjuster tell a facility once that only my Thoracic spine was covered. Never injured that. The facility would not treat me. My attorney said as long as they do not refuse to pay a bill once they are billed they can "say" whatever they want. I had this happen to me several times which is why I had to keep changing PT facilities. Now this is in PA, don't know if Kansas is the same. It's just a part of their game playing andsadly after all you have been through and are still going through you are stuck in the middle of it.
