RE: Only Female MD on MPN is 50 miles away
Ok I am still waiting for them to look into getting a qualified Female on the MPN list. Meanwhile my back is really hurting me and the pain is going down my leg again. They have offered for me to be seen at an urgent care facility - should I do this?

RE: Only Female MD on MPN is 50 miles away
Personally when I am in pain, I could care less where I go, who I get as a doctor ( gender wise) and just want the pain to go away. If you feel you are in alot of pain and need relief, go to the ER and they can make you comfortable till you go to your doctors.

What is taking so long to get an appointment set up with a doctor? If you are just waiting on them getting a female doctor added to the list, you could be making your injury worse just waiting. You could end up with drop foot, nerve damage etc. Take whatever doctor is available to get help. What is more important, gender or help????? You can always change over at a later time and maybe you won't want to. You may be waiting forever for them to find a qualified doctor to add to the list.

carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.

The Longer You wait, the Worse Your Condition is going to get, and the More w/c is going to Fight You because of all of these Delays on Treatment! You can Read My Injuries Below, so I know Back Pain, and let me say this: My Pain was So Great before My Surgery I would have let the 3 Stooges do the Surgery in the Back Seat of a '42 Ford!!!Rolleyes I had 1 Dr. before My Injury, and I now have 5, and 2 are Women, and 3 are Men. I'm a Man, and whether the Dr. is Male or Female I choose the Dr. that is Right for My Needs, and You should be doing the Same. If Your Pain is as Great as You Mentioned, You should have already been to the E.R. for Relief and Assistance! My Very Best to You, but if You continue on the Course You are Choosing, I See a Very Rough Road ahead for You! I'm only Speaking from Experience and trying to Help, I Hope All Goes Well for You!!;)

Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled.
