RE: Ruptured Disc's
I have suffered 3 lumbar injuries since 1999. In '99 I had 6 ESI's and lots of PT and work hardening PT. Returned to work fully healed. Ruptured, torn, herniated, bulged disks do heal. Second injury just PT. Returned to work fully healed. Third and last injured was in '06. Same disks are bulged. Have added problems. Haven't been offered one ESI> My spine specialist #1 knew I was getting injections in my shoulder and ankle and since I am a diabetic wanted to keep the steroids to the least amount as possible. Also I now have Osteopena in my lower spine that is believed to be caused by the previous steroid injections. Since my spine specialist knew the injections could cause more harm than good that's the way he would writ ehis report. That the ESI's have been eliminated due to several reasons. I have also been able to be kept out of surgery with my cervical spine although I have several bulged disks, bone spurs everywhere and severe stenosis. Alot depends on your body, the Dr., the PT involved and what type. I suffered 5 injured body parts and have been lucky enough to keep them all out of surgery except my shoulder. That's me, I was one of the lucky ones. Depends alot on the injury itself but non-surgical options are worth trying.

RE: Ruptured Disc's
As long as You are Following what w/c wants You to do, and if they Fire You Based on Your Injury alone, and that can be Proven, You are on Your Way to One Heck of a Lawsuit for the Co. not Following the Law! If they come up with another Reason to Fire You, which happens Often, and You Work in an "At Will" State, there is very Little You can do, unless You have a Union to Back You, and even then it will be Tough! My Opinion Only, but You are at the Place where an Attorney with W/C Experience is Your Best Bet, You can bet they have Their Lawyers in w/c looking over Your Case!! Don't show up at a Gun Fight with a Knife, be Prepared, these Folks look at You as a Case # and a Liability, and they will try and get You Gone A.S.A.P.!!! It's a Shame, but when they Start Playing these Games, You are in for a Battle!! My Best, and Please let Us know the Outcome of Your Lower Back Tests!!
Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled. Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!! |

RE: Ruptured Disc's
another question i been asking , i have bonespurs from c1 down to t1, could this be from constant pounding on the back? like what i mean is , jerking and jarring from the force of a pothole using a forktruck. almost every day for 2 years? i was told by wccm, that my back took alot of trauma which it may can cause this. i dont know the aptitude of the injury as of yet. not getting any answers pretty much, i do know that it can cause disc ruptures etc... and severe back trauma. hopefully ill know more soon.
