IME ?
Hello everyone, I am in Mass. and have a question about the IME. I suffered 2 ventral hernias due to heavy lifting at work, had surgery to repair them and 1 month later had an infection at one of the sites that required another surgery. I had colon surgery in the past (5 times) and was released to work with no restrictions at the end. After these hernia surgeries my Dr gave a lifetume restriction of 10 pounds. Went to see the IC DR and he basicly agreed with my Dr. I saw the IME last week and he actually painted a darker future for me than my own Dr did. My question (finally) is could/would the IME say that this was not work related and deny my claim? I have already been awarded medical and $120 per week, but my lawyer appealed that decision to get more $$$. I trust my lawyer 100% but as all lawyers do, he skates around answering any questions. Thanks for any info.

RE: IME ?
If workers comp paid for all the care then there is nothing the IME can say to the contrary, the horse is out of the barn.

RE: IME ?
if it was found to be work related then i dont think the ime can change anything as far as your claim goes.i think he was just letting you know what to excpect in the future as far as ur injury.its good he told you so ur not suprised if something happens later on thats why you have a 10 pound limit so you dont hurt anything again or another disc.
Each day is not a rite,it's a given. |
