RE: Settlement papers
I celebrated. I went to Sonic at happy hour and got a Route 44 diet Coke. I've got to keep that mindset that I am still bitter, poor and broke. I'm still bitter but not poor and broke. At least not for the next few weeks. After I pay all the bills off I'll probably go back to being poor and broke as well....

RE: Settlement papers
I sent the signed settlement papers to my attorney via express mail on the 17th. The settlement check came this morning. 8 days. Wow. We are now getting a smoked turkey for Thanksgiving instead of just the plain old frozen one. Crazy stuff.

I can see the cages, but I can not see the fusion. Has it fused yet????

RE: Settlement papers
No. It never fused. It never will. I've seen three different neurosurgeons in the past 9 months and they all said the same thing. They want to do a total revision surgery.
But the last surgeon, who I liked the most, said not to do anything until the pain is just intolerable.

They all agreed that the original surgeon did a horrible job. Notice how the plate at the bottom isn't flush with the vertebral body? It should have been. Also the screws are too short. If I can figure out how to post pics from the CT scan I will. It show up much better on it.

RE: Settlement papers
What was your pain symptoms before you had the screws put in? I noticed it looks like C5, 6, and 7. I am having bad hand pains and I know it has to do with probably c6 and c7. Just curious.

carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD.

RE: Settlement papers
Son of a dog. I didn't notice the bottom plate. You are right, it is not making contact. As far as the issue of the screws being short, I would not have an issue with that. except that the fusion has not taken place. The screws and plate (I am assuming it was a plate) can be removed after the fusion has taken place. I am more concerned about the issue of the fusion and why it did not take place.

Just my thoughts. Take Care

RE: Settlement papers
No answers from anyone as to why the fusion didn't occur. The surgery was over 3 years ago so not much chance of that happening now. And I did ask all the surgeons I've seen since why this didn't fuse and none of them would commit to an answer.

The fusion was done with PEEK implants and a demineralized bone matrix or donor bone. I don't know. Sometimes it's just too frusturating to talk about it.

As for symptoms that I was experiencing presurgery it was lots of hand, arm, shoulder and neck pain.
