RE: question about first rib swelling and pain
Capricorn, going back to the day this started. Pt regular wasn't there. Sub over streches and over pulls arm. And now you had no problem with such area, till that day. (QUOTE). Being said, don't let them confuse you, for your not the confused one. Their making excuses, if you can see what I'm seeing. And oh, the gland isn't working, but then it must of been working the day before the Sub Pt, am I correct? Then they say Top Rib, which i too would mostly in my opinion agree. But, hey, the Top Rib was fine too, till the Sub Pt did this. So your not confused, their trying to cover their self is all. I'm very sure you will soon find out, and it maybe a Mal-Practice issue also that comes into play here in the end. Then the confusion will stop....

RE: question about first rib swelling and pain
tweety, there are more then one way to get your Films and also reports. But, also you have to know the loop holes in each State to do just that. Like for me, I always obtain my Films, the same day and time they were taken, then I obtain the reports as soon as they were wrote up. Same with Doctor's, and Doctor, their's or mine. And Surgeon's, their's or mine. I have ever piece of scratch paper anything was ever written on. I do mean everything. My Attorney even said, he didn't understand how I pulled all that off. But I did. I also saved filing for Court Oders to obtain these Reports saving my Attorney time, and me money in the end. My depo's were even Paid by the IC's for I refused my Attorney to pay for them. yes, I pulled that off too. These things can be done, but lots of studing of many different state laws and Rules have to be learned. Hours, Months, Years of studing. That is why, I say, while we are home healing, Learn everything you can.

bad boy what about when they state there are no handwritten notes from nurses or doctors
Im so lost on how doctors do documentation ... ive been trained that you list every complaint but most of these w/c reports makes you feel like that wasnt you in the room ... confused you with another pt .
I even filed stating that I wanted the written  notes also

Any word  to use instead ?clinic !!!

Pooh,

You do exactly that....call them and let them know those are your records and you have the right to a copy of them. It does not matter if the doctor will go over them with you.......you know that he will....... but, you still have a right to them. Let me know how it goes. Take care and good luck!

RE: question about first rib swelling and pain
badboy...Yes on all you have said. It started with PT. Didn't have this swelling after surgery above my collar bone. Am seeing my PCP this afternoon. Though he's not a surgeon he should know what this swelling is coming from. I am hoping he can prescribe something for pain. Don't know if he'll let me take another 5 days of Toradol because of my stomach but I feel I need an anti-inflammatory at this point. Narcotics do nothing for me so there's no point. As soon as I see the Spine Specialist and shoudler surgeon next week and know exactly what's going on I will call attorney if they assure me that PT caused this. You're right. I am confused because I get a different answer from different PT's. You're also right in that they are protecting themselves. That's why I want my Dr.s to telll me what's up and to make sure they are going to back it before I notify attorney.I'm also running out of personal insurance and since the Judge hasn't made his decision yet I will probably not have anyone to pay for anymore PT. All I can afford is maybe joining an aquatic group and putting my whole body under water and working it all.

Pooh...... Have you tried to get a report?

RE: question about first rib swelling and pain
Cap, if you tell you Doctor what you wrote here right above this, I'm so very sure the octor will write you a good report stating this occured due to a person at PT. If so, it opens the door for a Mal-Practice issue. If that doctor does write it that way, hold on and let me know, before you show the report to anyone.

RE: question about first rib swelling and pain
You're on badboy.......It's time again that I sent for all of my records from this practice. SPine Specialist and shoulder surgeon are partners. I get a copy of everything periodically. I will give enough time for their reports to be typed up and then I'll request and update from the last time I sent for them. You know I have to laugh. My attorney told me not to pay for records that his paralegal would always send me a copy of whatever I want or need. I have asked her 3 times in the past year to forward records/reports and have yet to see one of them. I have told the attorney this and he just doesn't answer me. I do whatever I have to do on my own. This way I'm sure. Need to add dates and names as to what's gone on since the surgery to my journal. Will update you today IF the PCP has any answers.

No I have not tried to get the report yet. When I tried to get a copy of the images - on Cd - I was told that it would take a couple of days just for them to go through the images to sort out the bad ones from the good ones because of all the spasms I was having. I may try later this afternoon and see if it is ready or tomorrow.

here is a link to the type of machine I was in - it is an open MRI -

if you go to the coil gallery you will see the shoulder thing I was in as well ....... and image a small person in a large one of them .... lol It also came down further on my arm probably because I am so small - I don't know ..... lol

RE: question about first rib swelling and pain
Tweety00, when you go to a Doctor, any Doctor in fact. What I do is this... The Nurse comes in and ask their questions. When their done, and before they leave the room, hand them a letter writen and signed by you, that you want a copy of what you and the Nurse talked about, and what the Nurse wrote down. But don't just stop there, you not only hand them the Letter, but you will be very Verbal of what is on the letter, and say, you want that copy now, before it's placed in your Medical chart. They can then go to the coping machine, and make you a copy. Sometimes being a little firm, and demanding your copies as things take place is a way you can do things.
