Well I to am Irish and Indian. But I consider myself an american. I don't look at color. I look at a person as a human and what comes out of that person's mouth, is there inner self. But I do work in what they conisder the Inner City, Ghetto, Hood, Slum. what ever you want to call it. I grew up white and I will always be white. But it is not just the young who use that N word, it is all of them of all ages.
If I hear that word one time a day I hear it 100 times a day. Comming from all ages and from all walks of life. They keep that name going and they don't care who hears them useing it. Yes you are right, let a white person use and they are damned or even beaten for useing it, but it is ok for them to walk around where I work and call white people crackers, pasty, and other name, for them that is ok. If most of them would get out get a job and work and see what the real world is like then maybe they could educate there own house, and stop teaching there kids those words. Where I work they thing the world owes them and they own the world. I have to have a guard at my doors everday just to keep some kind of order and peace let alon safety for my employees. Just last week they shot the windows out at work, threw a bottle and hit a man in his head and he had to have stitches. I don't know if when I go to work if I will even have a car sitting out in the parking lot when I get off and lock the doors to the store. There are cars stolen daily there. 90 percent of my employees are I will use the terms of (off color). My pool of employee selection is very limited. Most people in the Hood or Ghetto there do not even have cars. The ones who do drive out of the area for work. I am left to select from what is left. Yeah the one who use that N term and most of them are not employable. We require 2 things of people that we employ 1. they must first pass a simple phone test (not hard right) answer a few question about your self and your past. 2. they must past a drug test. well most petential employees there can not even do that. They when we do find a few who can pass they do not last very long in the employment world, as we find they lied on there application or they are caught stealing from us. Then half of them don't show up for work and leave us stranded with no help. But yet I have to be professional when all this is going on around me everday of my life. If someone at there house would teach them about birth control then there would not be so many of them calling there kids that N word and teaching there kids to be like them do nothing the world owes you because of the color of your skin. They come in my store and constaly steal all day long. It is not just the kids but the adults and the grand maws and the gand paws to doing it. I have 16 video cameras recording 24 hrs a day 7 days a week. You and eveyone on here would be amazed if your were to sit and watch one day of my life at work. But again I have to be professional and keep my mouth shut if just for my safety at work since I am a cracker. If they had some respect for themselfs then maybe just maybe they could have some respect for others property. I watch the dope boys stand on the corner in front of my business every day making more money that I make in a legitamate business. I have a White girl who works for me whos husband they are ganging up on right now because they saw a white boy selling drugs on the corner and they think it was him. God forbid a white boy who sale drugs on there corner. I watch them burn down house and some of them there own. I watch them set cars on fire in my parking lot. Respectable people want even come in and shop becasue of these disrespectable people who constantly call each other that N word. Sorry this is so long.. I needed to vent and felt this was the place for it. But be and injured worker and be in pain all day and every day and deal with this crap in you life. My only blessing is at the end of the day I get to drive to my all white neighborhood if my car is still there when i walk out of the bulding where people do not disrespect there neighbors nor do they go around calling each other or there kids the N word or crackers.
Just my opinion but I am an American and I am proud of. I could care less who wins this election just get it over and I never dreamed I would live to see an election in America that was all about the color of someones skin. Yes it is all about the color of skin. Just go and spend the day where I work and people would see. I am not and have never been a racist. But enough is enough. One more and I will shut up less not forget the term baby daddy. Let me have a baby and I get food stamps, free housing, a welfare check, free medical and then I don't have to work for a living. One of my black cashiers was talking to a black customer the other day about the baby daddy thing seem he is the baby daddy of 9 and not even 25 years old. Well I thing that is a business for those people. How about is this discrimination GIVE TO THE AMERICAN NEGRO COLLEGE FOUNDATION.
Where is give to the White Caucasion College Foundation. Is that fair to the white people. If there was such a foundation for white college kids then maybe my daughter would not owe 80000.00 for her education and my son and daughter in law would not be in debt for 350000.00 for ther education.

Cervical, what You are Experiencing is the All Alive and Well Reverse Discrimination! My Father was a Foreman at US Steel Clairton Works, and right before the Mill Shut Down in the Early 80's this was the Hiring Practice for Every 10 New Hires, and this was Forced on and Sanctioned by the Union:

5 African American Males
3 African American Females
1 Caucasian Female
1 Caucasian Male

I have no Problem with Color and I'm not against Women Working in ANY Field if they Choose to, but what else can You Call it but Reverse Discrimination? I Believe if 10 of any of these Groups were Capable and Experienced enough to do the Job they should be Hired, but when You have to Hire Based on Nationality and Gender, before Experience, and Train from Scratch, it's Easy enough to See why We were beaten in the Steel Making Arena, and the Plants Closed! I also Must Mention that the Unions getting too Strong and Forcing the Mills to Provide Many Costly Programs also Played a Part in Their Downfall, Such as Rehabilitating Drug Users and Alcoholics and Saving Their Jobs for them, especially when You had Serial Users that were Rehabilitated 5 or 6 Times, and Returned to Their Jobs!! I could go On and On, but that gives You an Idea of some of what this Country did to the Steel Industry, and I'm Sure it wasn't just There!

There is no such thing as "reverse discrimination". We should call it what it is. Any decision or preference offered on the basis of any skin color is discrimination. If someone does not get a job simply because they are white, it is discrimination. If someone is denied a job because they are black, it is discrimination. There is no difference, with one glaring exception. The second scenario is not legal. The first one is.

Ace you are totaly correct on the hiring practices. There is no such thing as reverse discrimination in the hiring of employees.

These were the EXACT Hiring Practices that Us Steel had to Follow, I didn't just Decide to Make Up Figures! And If the First is Legal, and the Second Illegal, then What is it Called? Ace You are Saying it's Legal not to Hire a Caucasian Person Based on Race, but not Legal to Hire an African American Based on Race? Am I Correct? My Point to My Original Post is this: For Many Many Years African Americans were Discriminated Against, until the Laws were Changed, which I was Very Glad, because All Should be Equal. But in the Early 80's, at Least Here in Pittsburgh, the NAACP got So Strong that they did Force Hiring Practices on Businesses, and if the Correct Number of African Americans weren't Hired they would Picket Outside of the Business. Now Remember I'm Talking about the Early 80's, and even though it has Calmed Down a lot, it Still Exists Today! If a Caucasian said that they were Told that Race was the Reason they were not Hired, nothing would be Done, but turn that Around and make that Scenario with an African American, and the Company Can and Most Likely would be Fined, and have to Hire the Person. I Humbly Agree to Disagree with You on this One Ace, but it is alive and Well Today. You are Right they are both Discrimination, but when One has no Legal Ramification, and the Other Group does, that's Reverse Discrimination. What Happened to the African Americans up to and Including the Early 60's, when Changes were Implemented was Very Unfair, and they Deserve to Be Treated as Equal as Any Nationality, but as Cervical has said, to think You are Owed Something 40 Years Later is not the Right Attitude to Have.
