You are Very Fortunate Bummer! I Live in an Old Small Coal Mining Town 30 Miles South of Pittsburgh, and it Used to be like Your Town. But what has Happened around Here is We have gotten an Influx of City People Moving Here because Our Main Highway takes them right into the City, and it's Cheaper Tax Wise to Live Here and Commute. So Our Open Neighborhood Town has become a Town of Closed Doors and Strangers. There are More People in Town I don't know than I Do, and I Live 1/4 Mile from where I was Raised!! And as Far as the Obama Plot, if You Remember I Brought that Up about a Week ago on another Thread, that We wouldn't have to Look Over Seas for an Attack on Him, there are Many Hate Groups Born and Bred right Here in Our Own Country that would try and Take Him Out! And Jayne, what You are Describing is Reverse Discrimination, when You Speak of the Palin Effigy Hanging, and it's Sad to Say that's Alive and Well in this Country Today!! It's Very Saddening, and I Pray that Some Day things May Change!!

I have read several horror stories about both campaigns and some of them have made my blood boil. I don't want to see us go back to being a country divided by race, gender, religion,or politics. Who ever wins this election has a long hard road ahead of them.We are facing some serious issues in this country and we have to come together as a nation and solve these issues.I know a lot of folks are sensitive on the subject of politics but I have to say I for one think everyone should be able to speak their opinions and we as adults should be able to have discussions without folks getting ugly or upset. These discussions are important as this is a very important election and some folks are still undecided and you might have some insight that they had not thought about. I know I am new to the forum and maybe I should not open my mouth but I believe in freedom of speech and I believe in debating politics and I believe political discussions are healthy, when taken in the context they are meant. With that said please be sure to vote whomever your candidate is!

I am going to weigh in on this one. First, Timothy Belt, well said. I agree completely. As for the two boneheads arrested in what is widely being called the "Obama Plot", lets put this into a little perspective:

These guys wanted, as I understand it, to go on a killing spree that would end with Obama. They wanted to dress up in white tuxes and top hats, and shoot 88 black people, as well as behead 14 black people. I understand that Obama was to be the ultimate "finale". If that is correct, these idiots were no greater a threat to Obama than my mother. Try to picture this. Dressed in white tuxes and top hats.... shooting people in a progressive plan... (not to mention beheading 14 more) does anyone think they would have reached Obama????

Don't get me wrong. These guys were whack jobs, and probably represented a great danger to someone, but not Obama.

I believe there are people out there who DO represent a danger to Obama. I also believe there are people out there who represent a danger to George W. Bush. Take away his Secret Service protection, and how long do you think he (or ANY sitting President) would last? Anyone remember how many attempts there were on Gerald Ford's life? Three in as many months as I recall. Ronald Reagan got shot, let us not forget. The danger is present for our presidents no matter what their color. There are many sicko's out there, but these two don't even come close to being the actual threat to a candidate that is being portrayed in the media today.

I can't remember exactly, but they have something to do with Nazi Lore. They were symbolic of Adolph Hitler and his regime.

The black population keep it up and going in their songs and poetry and many of the older generation (over 70) a lady who is helping me learn to take care of my daughters hair told me blacks can use that word and its not bad its only if a white person uses it that it is bad.....But to answer your question mainly young blacks use it they way we Okies use Bubba or sissy.....and the word is nigger...it means lazy around my home we give that word no power....to call it the "N" word gives it a power it shouldnt have......One of the worst things you could call me when I was a young teen was squaw I hated that word but met a lady a few years later who used it as a nick name she said it took the power from it...growing up Irish and Indian was tough when I was the only fair skined red head in a family that looked pure indian...The kids at school called me red headed squaw...it was good for 2 whippings one at school (sometimes I got whipped sometimes the name caller got whipped depending on who was the biggest)and then got another at home for fighting at school.......Momma kept telling me the sticks and stones thing but I can tell you if any word has the power to hurt it will and that word can be fat,skinny,shorty ect.....
