RE: Shoulder surgey
sounds like the doctor doesn't know what's wrong and/or can't fix it. Probably getting ready to write you off.
Most work comp systems have specific procedures for changing doctors and getting second opinions. You need to find out how to do that. what state are you in? each has different rules. |

I am in SC, yes I feel the same way, because I also had knee surgery about a month ago with the same dr. and again he is saying that, I should have heeled by now and as far as my knee go continue the next 3weeksd of pt and he will have to say that it is arthrydous, I explain to him that I had know arthrydous before the knee surgery and all he could say was well he gave me his opinion, at first he was great in answer my questions now that he has been dealing with me for both injury, it's like he changing on me.

RE: Shoulder surgey
Send in a written request to your carrier that you want a second opinion (keep a copy) or you can ask your doctor to make a referal. If it's denied you'll have to go to the work comp commission to get a change.

RE: Shoulder surgey
When you had the second surgery, how is it now ur shoulder that is
because he was saying that, after he did a second surgery maniplilating the shoulder, that he said he surly hope that a frozen shoulder sets in,and I am feeling like pins and needles going all up the muscle of my arm. and I get this knot in the side of my neck when I show the DR. how far I can try and raise the arm, he wouldn't explain to me what that could be no more than, I had shoulder surgery, that the knot has nothing to do with the shoulder surgery. halftrak Wrote:I'm not a doctor but the same thing happened to me after my first shoulder surgery loss of movement so I wound up getting frozen shoulder, and yes another surgery, this is what happened to me, halftrak |

RE: Shoulder surgey
Get a second look at it. Have them repeat the MRI. You need to get this done as soon as possible as the window to repair is only about 6 months.
May God send his angels to hold you in his arms |

RE: Shoulder surgey
Hi..I am also a shoulder person. Had surgery, sounds about the same as yours, then I froze 4 months later. OMG! The pain of frozen shoulder is horrible and never ending. Nothing helps it. I continued in PT for 10 months after my surgery. I am no better now than I was right after surgery which was 17 months ago. The feelings you describe now are alot of the same problems I hav righ tdown to the knot in you neck. Since I also suffered a neck injury it's hard to tell what is causing what. The bicep and tricep pain were horrible. I have started to take neurontin and that seems to be easing some of the pain in my arm. Finally had an MRI done about a year post surgery. I have a big mess in there now. Please listen to RN and jump on this now. If you wait to long there' is nothing to be done. I also don't have fulluse of my arm and never will. Best of luck to you.

RE: Shoulder surgey
Same here as Cap!
3 shoulder surgeries later...and over 130+ PT sessions, plus, ALL my 2x daily sessions at home, have not helped with gaining any motion. Some surgeries fail...some are successful. I was not one of the lucky ones. I hope you fare better. I too still have the knot as you & Cap describe. Massage helps this, but it always returns. Good Luck, Lilly
