State of Ohio
Ohio child support stepped in when settlement was reached, that isnt the problem, what is that my wc lawyer said they could onoly take what is owed in back support to them, case worker said she has to audit the case, then the court gets it, then if they want they can take the whole settlement. my question is.... why audit, courts need to look at it why, and can they take all the settlement? any information would be helpful , thank you

RE: State of Ohio
very good question.have you talked to ur lawyer any further about this matter?i would not see how they could take all the money, that you owe yes and maybe alittle more so you dont fall behind, but not all of it.sounds like you need a lawyer for this issue or you might get taken for a ride.this is just my thoughts and in my state most of the time they take out of the persons checks before you get urs.good luck.

RE: State of Ohio
well call ur lawyer again and run all that she said by him/her again and see what the lawyer has to say.its the only thing you can do.the lawyer knows the laws better than the case worker.good luck

Listen to your lawyer. The case worker is trying to intimidate and bully you.
