RE: Unsure in Texas
You May be a bit Confused when You think of SSDI. Your Husband will Still Receive his Check from w/c, and SSDI will Supplement His Income to 80% of His Average Lifetime Wage! So You May be Leaving a lot of Money Laying on the Table, I Strongly Suggest You Speak with a SSDI Attorney, and Soon!! My Very Best, and I Hope You Check into This!!Wink

I Applied and was Approved in 3 Mos./3 Weeks without an Attorney, and not only did I Receive Approx $500.00 per Month Additional, I am also on Medicare, so if w/c Decides to Play games with My Medical, I Have a Back-Up!! Please Check into this, it May be just what You need to get You and Your Family through!!Wink

Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled.

Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!!

Thank you for your reply.....We have already buckled down and have been for the year he has been off. My children are college students, both work full-time and go to school full time. The boys pay for their own insurance and gas. They both own their own cars. My husband and I do not use credit cards, and our cars are paid for.
I have a full-time job and work overtime every other weekend. We will get thru.

I thought if you get SSDI you can not work any other job. Is this correct? My husband is partially disabled. He will always need assistance with walking, but he still would like to be able to do some type of work. Can you get SSDI for partial disability?

Thanks so very much for all your advise and support.

My boys have been lucky enough to be able to use scholarship money for college. We have only had to pay for the small this or that. But thank you for the info.

RE: Unsure in Texas
If I may make a suggestion. I would not pursue the issue of MMI. I would make sure that all avenues of medical attention have be analyzed first.

8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom.
