After PIR settlement
My 30 days to appeal my PIR rating award is up now and I have received my award. I never hired a lawyer through the whole wc injury and still being treated monthly by the pain clinic and now being referred to a ortho surgeon for surgery again on my hand for recurring carpal tunnel.
I have not gone to the Ortho yet as I am waiting on a opening appointment to see a doctor and go over what to do. In the meantime the IC is still paying my visits and because in their doctors IME report he said I have recurring carpal tunnel, my PM doctor wants me to see a surgeon to have the surgery again. Only if the doctor feels it is needed because of my EMG result of " mild carpal tunnel". Now this doctor also diagnosed me with RSD last month and then this month suggested a surgeon. It is different diagnosis every other month pretty much. It is all very confusing and I was wondering now since I have not heard anything from the IC, how long do they pay for my medical here in NH? Is the case open for 5 yrs? Do they just keep paying my monthly visits and mileage? Will they ever come to me and offer me a settlement of some sort to get me off their hands? I have no idea what happens after a PIR award has been reached and received. Any help is appreciated ,as I do not have a lawyer for legal help, and it does not tell me anything about this on the NH wc site. carpal tunnel recurrence/ neuropathy / RSD. 1/29/07 injury date. Permanent. PIR settlement 8/4/08 10% |

RE: After PIR settlement
I've searched for that information now for about a month Sparkey, and I haven't found the answer yet. Did you call the WC board and ask them?

RE: After PIR settlement
No, but that is a good idea. I will try to call tomorrow. If anyone knows in the meantime what happens if back to work in a different career working full time and still receiving medical care. How long will they keep paying for my treatments and do I ever hear from the IC at all now?All I know is I received my rating award and still get paid my mileage and treatments. No medication payments due to the IME doctor stating that recurring carpal tunnel patients only take over the counter medications.
