RE: headed to the lawyer
well put mdh67. the lawyer still gets a 25% out of any settlement, but the laws in this state (missouri) seem to change yearly anymore just so as to protect the employer. just last fall, in august, the laws changed again making it even more difficult for the injured worker to get a fair shake at the system. and as far as how much the inssurance companies can spend defending their interest.....its the moon! there is no limit for them. the sad part about this is i'll be screwed if i ever have to have something redone or i get hurt in the same way or area, WC or private insurance won't do a thing. like my doctor told me after the last visit (the IC doctor who did the surgeries), "i'm now in what we call the twightlight zone for the IW, being released w/no restrictions..company you worked for no longer exists.....and no one will hire someone that is still under the thumbs of a WC claim" his words (got 'em on tape...lol) so all the other IW's here in this forum..count yer lucky stars that you don't live in this crappy state. and if you do....i'm soooooo sorry for you.Sad thanx fer all your support everyone! have a wonderful sunday.
